Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the economical performance and workability when assembling a wire in a connector by inserting the wire into a rubber bush without using a jig. CONSTITUTION: When an actuator member 31 is inserted into a cavity 12, contactors 2 are inserted into counterpart hole parts 34 and projected parts 33 are engaged with groove parts 32 and move in wire holding parts 20 (the bottom parts of the cavities 11, 12) in up and down directions and hole parts 21 of the holding part 20 are connected and held in the part where contactors are gathered. A rubber bush 40 has holes to insert wire 1 into and comprises recessed parts 41A formed on one side and a through holes 41B penetrating from the bottom part of the recessed part 41A to the other face. The contactors 2 which terminate wire 1 are inserted into the recessed parts 41A and penetrate the through holes 41B while widening the holes 41B. Since the aperture shapes of the recessed parts 41A are conformed to the cross-section shapes of the contactors 2, the directions of the contactors 2 are determined. Respective wires are sealed by the through holes of the hole parts. The bush 40 is fixed in the cavity 11 of a housing 10. Consequently, the workability is improved.

TECHNICAL FIELD This application relates to a waterproof type connector. [Prior Art] Conventionally, in this type of connector, wire rods terminated by a contactor were passed through rubber bushes one by one in advance by using a dedicated jig and housed in a cavity of a housing in a sealed state. Therefore, it takes time and effort to assemble the wire into the connector, and it has been required to seal the wire in the connector by a simpler means. In the past, considering workability when penetrating a wire into a rubber bush, most of them are round pins (no directionality).
For example, connection with a tab-shaped contactor provided on a printed circuit board was impossible.

[Description of Embodiments] A connector assembly according to the present application will be described below in detail based on illustrated embodiments. FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of the present invention. The one shown in the drawing is a female connector, and in a practical use mode, for example, as shown in FIG. 2, the connector is connected to a tab 61 of a male connector 60 provided on the printed circuit board 50. Further, since the difference between male and female as a connector depends on the shape of the contactor, it is not essential and the connector assembly of the present application can be applied to both. In FIG. 1, 1 is a wire rod, which is terminated by a contactor 2. Further, the contactor is typically a cylindrical type having a rectangular cross section, but the present invention is not limited to this as described above.

The contactor terminating the wire rod is first inserted into the recess of the rubber bush, and then penetrates the through hole while expanding the through hole. At this time, the opening shape of the recess corresponds to the cross section of the contactor. Therefore, the direction of the contact is determined. Further, each wire is sealed by the through hole of the hole. The rubber bush is fixed in the cavity 11 of the housing, and the means for this is, for example, a protrusion on the outer wall of the rubber bush.
Further, a fitting groove for fitting with the protrusion may be provided in the housing.

The structure of the connector assembly according to the present application has been described above in detail, but the following unique effects can be obtained from the structure. That is, in the connector according to the present application, the end portion of the wire can be inserted into the rubber bush without using any special jig and tool, and at that time, the shape of the non-circular end portion and the shape of the recessed portion of the rubber bush must be matched. Thus, the wire rod that keeps the insertion direction constant and that penetrates the rubber bush is sufficiently sealed by the through hole that communicates with the recessed portion.
