Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the material for the ornament which is of high quality, and excellent in the mechanical strength, especially in the hardness by specifying the composition consisting of Si, Ti, Zr, Hf, the rare earth metal, and Ag or AgCu alloy. CONSTITUTION:The Ag or AgCu alloy for the ornament has the composition consisting of at least one kind of Si, Ti, Zr, Hf an the rare earth metal, with 0.01-1wt.% in total, and the balance Ag or AgCu alloy, and the mechanical strength, especially the hardness is sufficiently improved while keeping the high quality. Y, Sm, Eu, or Er is preferable for the rare earth metal, and Sc, La or the like has the improving effect. This material is suitable for the necklace, the ring, the brooch, the pendant, the tie-pin, etc, and is free from the weak points such as flawability and deformation in the manufacturing and in the use. The fluidity during the casting is improved by the deoxidation effect of these added elements, and the generation of defects such as pin holes can be prevented.

The Ag for the decorative article of the present invention constructed as described above
Or, according to the AgCu alloy material, Si, Ti, Zr,
From 0.01 to 1% by weight of one or more rare earth elements such as Hf, Y, Sm, Eu, and Er in total, mechanical strength is improved, and hardness is particularly sufficient.
If it is less than 1% by weight, the improvement effect cannot be expected, and if it exceeds 1% by weight, the high quality or characteristics of Ag or AgCu alloy is impaired. In addition, Si, Ti, Zr, Hf, Y, S
Rare earth elements such as m, Eu, and Er are not limited to one kind, and two or more kinds can also similarly have an improving effect. In addition to Y, Sm, Eu, Er, Sc, La, C
e, Pr, Nd, Pm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, T
The rare earth elements of m, Yb, and Lu also have the similar improvement effect. The Ag or AgCu alloy material for ornaments of the present invention comprises Ag or AgCu alloy and Si, Ti, Z.
It is presumed that the mechanical strength is further improved because the difference in the crystal structure from the rare earth element such as r, Hf, Y, Sm, Eu, and Er is strongly connected strongly. Further, the deoxidizing action of Si, Ti, Zr, Hf, and the rare earth element improves the flow of molten metal during casting, and it is a good material without material defects such as pinholes.

EXAMPLES Examples and conventional examples will be described below. First, as an example, Ag or AgCu 7.5 wt%, Ag
Cu, 10% by weight each containing Ti, Zr, Hf, Y, Sm, E
A material containing 4% by weight each of u and Er was used as a master alloy and was melt-cast in a high-frequency vacuum melting furnace to a predetermined content of 0.
The composition was 01% by weight, 0.2% by weight, and 1% by weight, and then a wire rod having a wire diameter of 0.5 mm and a wire drawing rate of 90% was used. As a conventional example, pure Ag and AgCu having a purity of 99.9%
7.5% by weight (without Si, Ti, Zr, Hf, and rare earth elements) is melted, cast, and drawn to a wire diameter of 90%
A 0.5 mm wire rod was used. However, it was confirmed that, in the examples, the material has a good flow of molten metal during casting, good workability, and good mechanical strength without material defects such as pinholes, as compared with the conventional example. As a result of hardness measurement and processing into a necklace, Hv90 to 100 was obtained in Conventional Example Ag. In the conventional example AgCu 7.5 wt%, Hv 140
It was ~ 150. In the examples, as shown in Table 1, it was an extremely hard Ag or AgCu alloy material.

Further, as a result of necklace processing, in the conventional example, during manufacturing, handling and use, it was easily damaged and deformed, and the machinability was poor, whereas in the example,
In addition to being hard, they are not easily scratched or deformed during manufacture or handling and use, they have good workability such as ductility and malleability, and have excellent elasticity and machinability.
The color peculiar to the Cu alloy and the glossy finish were very good. In addition, each rare earth element other than the above example is 0.01
Wt%, 0.2 wt%, 1 wt% Ag or Ag
A material of 7.5 wt% Cu and 10 wt% AgCu was made, and the same effect as above was obtained.

As described above, Ag or Ag for decorative articles of the present invention
According to the Cu alloy material, Si, Ti, Zr, Hf and Y,
One or two or more rare earth elements such as Sm, Eu, and Er are added in a total amount of 0.01 to 1% by weight, and the balance is Ag or AgCu alloy. Therefore, high quality and mechanical strength of Ag or AgCu alloy, especially It is a hard material and has an excellent effect that it is hard to be scratched and is hardly deformed.
Further, it also has the effect of being excellent in workability, machinability and abradability in the processing of ornaments.
