Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent paint from seeping out of a clearance and make it possible to do satisfactory coating by inserting a bag into the clearance of a material to be coated, then inflating the bag by injection of a gas, and sealing the clearance. CONSTITUTION:A bag is inserted into a clearance 7 between the front door 5 of an automobile 4 and a body 6 from outside after closing the font door 5, and the gas injection part 3 of the bag is pulled out toward the upper part of an area outside. If a gas such as air is injected from the gas injection part 3, the bag becomes inflated, resulting in the introduction of the gas into the space of the clearance 7 along its curved and uneven surfaces to close the clearance. The gas injection part 3 is closed by any appropriate method. Thus a paint is prevented from seeping into the clearance 7 from outside by the bag, i.e., a baggy masking material, and thereby some extra paint no longer sticks to the inner part of the body 6 or the front door 5, if the exterior body panel 6 and the front door 5 are coated. Consequently, masking is performed easily and a clean coating on the part to be coated is achieved.

2. Description of the Related Art When coating an automobile outer panel with a repair or the like, there is a gap between the body and the door. Therefore, the paint sprayed for painting the outer panel enters through the gap and the body or the door. It also adheres to the inside of the, and it becomes a color different from the paint inside, and this is noticeable every time the door is opened and closed, and it looks very bad. For this reason, it has become necessary to fix the mask sheet from the inside of the car with a masking tape and to close this gap during painting to prevent the paint from entering through the gap. Requires skill and a lot of trouble.

EXAMPLES Examples will be described below. A gas is sealed during coating such as stretched or unstretched polypropylene, polyethylene, nylon, polyester, or other plastic film, rubber, cloth, or various laminates thereof. The bag body 1 is formed of a material that is substantially airtight and has flexibility such that it can conform to the curved surface and the unevenness of the gap so that the bag 1 can be kept inflated. The bag may be one in which the gas is gradually released as long as the bag can be kept inflated by enclosing the gas.

The one shown in the drawing is adapted to be applied to a gap portion formed at a hinge portion between a front door of an automobile and a body, and a bag 1 having an elongated shape with a heat seal 2 around the periphery. The gas injection part 3 is provided at one end of the.
In this case, the bag 1 can be formed by using a tubular film or the like and sealing the ends by heat sealing or the like.

The bag 1 is a front door 5 of an automobile 4.
Is closed and is inserted from the outside into the gap portion 7 formed between the body 6 and the body 6, and the gas injection portion 3 is pulled out upward. In this manner, when the bag body is positioned in the gap 7 between the front door 5 and the body 6, a gas such as air sent from an air compressor, a pump, a cylinder or the like is injected from the gas injecting section 3, The body 1 bulges and occupies the space along the curved surface and the unevenness of the gap portion 7, and the gap portion 7 is closed. Therefore, the gas injection portion is closed by a clip or another appropriate method.

When the outer panels of the body and the front door are coated in this way, the bag-shaped masking material 8 prevents the paint from entering the gap portion from the outside, so that an extra space is left inside the body and the front door. No paint adheres, you can easily mask, and you can paint neatly on the necessary parts.

After the coating is completed, the clip of the gas injecting section 3 is removed, and the gas in the bag immediately escapes and naturally collapses, so that the bag can be easily removed. In addition, this bag can be reused in some cases. Moreover, such a gas injection part can be formed in a simple nozzle with a check valve. This makes it easier to inject the gas, and when removing the gas, cut off this nozzle part,
This can be easily done by cutting the bag with a cutter or piercing a needle.

FIG. 5 shows the gas injection portion 3 of the bag body 1.
The thin neck portion 9 is formed in the portion connected to the above. The thin neck portion 9 is easily taken out from the gap portion to inject the gas, and after use, this portion is easily cut by a cutter or the like and is easily removed. In FIG. 6, the narrow neck portion 9 is further lengthened, and can be effectively used in the case of a type in which the upper clearance between the body and the front door is made narrow. In FIG. 7, one shoulder portion 10 of the bag body 1 connected to the narrow neck portion 9 is further formed gently.

As shown in FIG. 8, the masking material may be covered with a release paper by attaching a double-sided adhesive tape to a part of the bag body, or may be coated with a release agent and covered with a release paper. The adhesive portion 11 can be formed by a method.
It may be more preferable to use a pressure-sensitive adhesive having low adhesiveness or a removable adhesive. It is possible to inject the gas after peeling off the release paper of the adhesive part and exposing the adhesive to open the door or temporarily attaching the bag body to the gap part by any other suitable method. Because it is easier to use. In addition to the above, such an adhesive portion can be similarly provided in each aspect.

In FIG. 9, a gas injection part 3 is formed on one side of one end of the bag body 1, and a rubber stand is attached to the upper part of the body and the front door, so that the gap It is used when the upper part is closed.
As shown in FIG. 5, the bag body is inserted into the gap portion, and the gas is inflated by injecting the gas from the gas injecting portion projecting outside the body. Further, in the case where there is a gap portion of this type, the bag body described above can be used upside down.

In the example shown in FIG. 11, the entire bag 1 is formed into a thin tube shape. For example, as shown in FIG. 12, it exists between the body 6 and the hood 12.
It can be conveniently used for narrow and long gaps. The above-mentioned masking material can be similarly applied to various gaps between the body and the trunk door, between the body and the hatchback swing door, and the like.

As described above, according to the present invention, the bag body is inserted into the gap portion existing at the time of painting, and the bag body is inflated to easily close the gap portion having a complicated shape. By doing so, masking can be performed easily, and by changing the shape of the bag body in the special gap portion, it can be applied to a wide variety of things, and the labor of masking can be greatly reduced. In addition to the above cars,
It can be widely used for vehicles such as railways, furniture, electric products, and various other paintings.
