1. A pyramidal chuck body having a plurality of inclined guide surfaces that converge toward the tip is provided, and a chuck member is provided outside the chuck body. The chuck member is composed of a plurality of arc-shaped divided pieces. The divided pieces have a flange portion having a diameter larger than the inner diameter of the steel plate coil and a fitting surface parallel to the inner diameter portion of the steel plate coil, and each divided piece is slidable in the axial direction on the inclined guide surface of the chuck body. A steel plate coil chucking device, wherein a spring is provided between the chuck body and each of the divided pieces, the spring urging the divided pieces in the closing direction at all times.
