る。4はラジアル軸受、5はスラスト軸受で、両者とも
前記外筒3の内部空間に嵌挿される。6は回転軸で、前
記ラジアル軸受4、およびスラスト軸受5を介して外筒
3内で回動する。7は鍔部で、外筒3の円筒状空間に蓋
の状態を形成する。8はプラグ装着突起部で、前記鍔部
7と一体化されている。9は間隔材で、前記ラジアル軸
受4およびスラスト軸受ころ5を所望間隔に維持するも
のである。11はベアリングナットで、ラジアル軸受
4、スラスト軸受5および間隔材9を鍔部7に向けて押
圧する。また、12はプラグで、被圧延材の穿孔および

る。従って、スラスト軸受5aおよび5bに付加される
スラスト荷重は分散して、軸受ころ13aおよび13b
にかかり、軸受ころ13a、13bの何れも、1個にか
かる荷重が減少する。この結果、スラスト軸受5は外形
を拡大等の寸法変更を行うことなく、寿命を大幅に延長
することができ、スラスト軸受の破壊がネックであるこ
とは解消した。また、上記実施例の形状とすることによ
り、小径サイズのマンドレルバーにも組み込むことが容
易になった。なお、上述の実施例においては、スラスス
ト軸受を2列に配列する場合について例示したが、本発
明ではそれに限定されるものではなく、他の同様な機能
を有するもの、例えば2列から3列以上の複数列とする
こと、あるいは一組から二組以上の多数組にする等の設
