Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the whole device compact and to save the equipment space by alternately arranging a zone wherein plural UV irradiating lamps for curing a UV curing paint are circularly arranged in the verical direction and a zone wherein the lamps are circularly arranged in the horizontal direction. CONSTITUTION:A circular body 1 such as steel tube and steel bar with the outer face coated with a UV curing paint in a coating booth is successively transported into No.1 and No.2 zone UV irradiation booths, and the paint is dried and cured. Plural UV irradiating lamps 3 held by a holder 4 consisting of a U groove and a transparent lid are arranged concentrically with the position through which the body 1 is passed in each booth and supported by a rack 5. 紫外線硬化型塗料の塗装装置の紫外線照射ランプを上下
方向へ円弧状に配列した状態の構成を示す説明図であ
る。図において、1は円形体で、鋼管、棒鋼等で代表さ
れる金属体である。3は紫外線照射ランプで、前記円形
体1が通過する位置と同心に配列されている。4は保持
具で、U型の溝と透明な蓋とで構成する空間を有し、前
記紫外線照射ランプ3を格納して防護して配列するもの
である。5は架台で、鋼材等で高い剛性を有し、前記保
持具4が支持されている。前記の状態に配列された紫外
線照射ランプ3は、複数の各円形体1の横側には配置し
ないので、円形体1の間隔を狭めることができる。図2
は同紫外線照射ランプ3が中央の円形体1の左右方向へ
円弧状に配列した状態の構成を示す説明図で、両側の円
形体1の横側には紫外線照射ランプ3を配置しないの
で、円形体1の間隔を狭めることができる。図3は同紫
外線照射ランプ3を左右方向へ円弧状に2組を離間して
配列した状態の構成を示す説明図で、中央の円形体1の
横側には紫外線照射ランプ3を配置しないので、円形体
1の間隔を狭めることができる。図4は同ライン構成を
示す説明図である。6は塗装ブースで、円形体1の外面
に紫外線硬化塗料を塗装装置(塗装ノズルは図示せず)
を格納している。7は No.1ゾーン紫外線照射ブース
で、図1のものが格納されている。8は No.2ゾーン紫
外線照射ブースで、図2のものが格納されている。9は
No.3ゾーン紫外線照射ブースで、図3のものが格納さ
れている。10は搬送ロール、および11はピンチロー
ルで、円形体1を所定位置に支承する状態で縦送りす
る。12はしごき装置で円形体1の外面に塗布された紫
外線硬化型塗料をしごいて一様な塗膜厚さを形成する。
従って、塗装ブース6に続いて順次配置される No.1ゾ
ーン紫外線照射ブース7、および No.2ゾーン紫外線照
射ブース8の各ブースを短くできるので、ラインの長手
方向の距離の延び度合も少ないので装置全体の設置スペ
ースが減少して設備規模をコンパクトにすることができ
る。

紫外線で外面の上下方向の塗料が積極的に硬化される。
次いで、円形体1は No.2ゾーン紫外線照射ブース8に
移動して中央の円形体1が左右方向から照射される紫外
線で外面の左右方向の塗料が積極的に硬化される。そし
て No.3ゾーン紫外線照射ブース8に移動した円形体1
は、両側の円形体1が左右方向から照射される紫外線で
外面の左右方向の塗料が積極的に硬化される。この結
果、円形体1の外面には効果して防錆効果を有する一様
な膜厚の塗膜が形成することになる。なお、本願発明は
上記実施例に限定されるものではなく、例えば、円形体
1を3本以上の多数本が並列された場合にも適用でき
る。その他本願の目的を逸脱しない範囲で適宜設計変更
することができる。
