Abstract

PURPOSE:To make discrimination and recognition possible even in dark by forming a phosphor in at least partly an external surface of a cable over its total length. CONSTITUTION:Over the total length of a cable comprising a linear medium 1 for preferentially transmitting an electric current or light and a cover 2 for covering around this medium 1, at least partly in an external surface of the cable, fluorescent paint is applied, or a tape containing a fluorescent substance is wound, or a cable total unit is covered with a coating material containing a fluorescent substance.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, there have been ordinary colored cables such as Ethernet cables. However, in general, cables are often passed through the darkness with little light, such as in the ceiling or under the floor, and it is often difficult to identify them. On the other hand, at the stage of laying a cable, an operator may manually wind a tape containing a fluorescent substance, that is, a fluorescent color tape around the tip of the cable. However, this was only for confirming the laying direction and the like by knowing the position of the tip of the cable at the stage of laying work. Therefore, when the installation work is completed and the correspondence between both ends of the cable can be determined, it becomes unnecessary and is generally removed.

The cables laid in this way are fixed to a guide structure such as a rack at an appropriate place, and the cables are overlapped each time a new cable is laid. For example, when laying from the ceiling to the floor, it is fixed at an intermediate point or the like in order to avoid a load due to the weight of the cable. However, it is necessary to move or remove the cable when changing the place of use of the equipment connected by the cable or when using the equipment. In this case, with the conventional cable as described above, it is difficult to identify the target cable in the dark, which causes a great inconvenience in the work.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS FIG. 1 is a view for explaining a first embodiment of the present invention, in which a cable covering material itself is used by containing a fluorescent substance. With such a structure, the outer surface of the entire cable fluoresces even in the darkness where only a slight amount of light is emitted. Therefore, it can be easily distinguished from other cables to which no phosphor is attached.

A fluorescent paint may be applied to the outer surface of the coating over the entire length of the cable. This structure is easier to realize than a structure in which the coating material itself contains a fluorescent substance.

FIG. 2 is a diagram for explaining a third embodiment of the present invention, which has a structure in which phosphor portions are formed in stripes on the outer surface of the coating over the entire length of the cable. A and B
Shows two cables with different lengths of the phosphor portion. With such a structure, fluorescence is emitted in the form of striped patterns having different lengths even in the darkness where only a slight amount of light is emitted. Therefore, the two cables can be easily distinguished from each other.

In the present invention, the phosphor portion may be formed on the outer surface of the coating over the entire length of the cable by changing the length of the phosphor portion and changing the color of the phosphor. With such a structure, many cables can be easily distinguished from each other even in the darkness where only a small amount of light is emitted.

Further, in the present invention, a phosphor tape can be used as the phosphor. Such a phosphor tape having different colors or different widths can be used by covering the cable surface entirely or partially. Such a structure can be realized more easily.

As described above, the cable of the present invention emits fluorescent light over the entire surface thereof, so that there is no problem in the back of the ceiling.
There is an advantage that the target cable can be identified at any point in the darkness such as under the heavy floor. Therefore, no error occurs when moving or removing a specific cable. Further, there is an advantage that a cable that may affect other can be easily recognized at any point. Further, by making various changes in the pattern of the phosphor, more effective identification and recognition can be performed. For example, if a phosphor pattern with appropriate identification codes, trademarks, nicknames, etc. is used, there is an advantage that it can be used as a promotional medium that facilitates identification and recognition.
