Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain the weathering resistance of wood by protecting a coating film from delamination and other damage over a long period of time by applying a resin coating for outdoor use on the surface of wood which was coated in advance with a water based alkoxyl silane water absorption preventing agent at a specified amount of application in solid. CONSTITUTION:The surface of wood, after being polished, is coated with a water base alkoxyl silane water absorption preventing agent. The amount of application in solid is 5-30g/m<2>. When the amount of application is below the above range, the effect of after absorption prevention is not enough; when the amount is above the range, the initial adhesion is lowered. An applicator such as a spray gun is used for the application of the water adsorption preventing agent. The surface is coated with a primer; the coated surface, after being polished, is intermediate-coated, and the surface is polished again. Finally, the surface is top-coated with a resin coating for outdoor use.

However, since the wood absorbs moisture in the atmosphere during long-term outdoor use, the adhesion between the surface of the wood and the paint film is deteriorated, and the paint is applied. There is a problem that damage such as peeling of the film occurs, and it is difficult to maintain weather resistance.

However, each of the above-mentioned methods has the following problems. (1) Even by improving the paint, it was not possible to maintain the outdoor adhesion (adhesion between the wood and the coating film) over a long period of time. (2) Although the adhesion is improved, the treatment with CrO 3 or the like has a problem that the wood is discolored. (3) Although the adhesion is improved, the cost is increased and the texture of the wood is deteriorated. (4) Although the adhesion is improved, there is a problem that the equipment is increased and the cost is increased because the whole wood is treated.

According to the wood surface treatment method of the present invention, the water-based alkoxysilane-based water absorption inhibitor is applied as a pretreatment prior to the application of the outdoor resin paint, so that the wood can be used even for a long period of outdoor use. It is possible to suppress the absorption of water, and to prevent a decrease in adhesion between the wood surface and the paint film.
Therefore, over a long period of time, damage such as peeling of the paint film can be prevented and the weather resistance of the wood can be maintained.

The wood used as the raw material includes natural wood, plywood,
Particleboard, decorative veneer, etc. are used. This wood preferably has a water content of about 6 to 15%,
When the water content is higher than this, it is desirable to adjust the water content to the above range by natural drying or artificial drying in advance.

Next, a water-based alkoxysilane-based water absorption inhibitor is applied to the wood surface. As the water-based alkoxysilane-based water absorption inhibitor, specifically, alkoxysilane such as monomethoxysilane, trimethoxysilane, monoethoxysilane, and triethoxysilane is added in an appropriate solvent in an amount of 5 to 40% by weight.
What was melt | dissolved so that it might become a density | concentration is used.
The coating amount of this water-based alkoxysilane-based water absorption inhibitor is 5 to 30 g / m 2 in terms of solid content. This is because if the coating amount is less than the above range, the effect of preventing water absorption cannot be sufficiently obtained, and if the coating amount exceeds this range, a decrease in initial adhesion is observed. As a method for applying the water-based alkoxysilane-based water absorption inhibitor, there are a spray method, a brush coating method, a spin coater method and the like. Among them, a spray method using a spray gun is preferably adopted.

Next, a top coat is applied. An outdoor resin paint is used for the top coat. This outdoor resin coating may be transparent or opaque depending on the intended use of the wood. Specifically, acrylic urethane-based, epoxy-based, acrylic silicone-based, and fluororesin-based resin coatings may be used. Things are used. If necessary, suitable additives such as a filler, a colorant, and an ultraviolet protective agent may be added to this coating material. The film thickness of this top coating film is 20 to 30 μm as a dry film thickness.

In the wood treated as described above,
Prior to applying the outdoor resin coating, a water-based alkoxysilane-based water absorption inhibitor is applied as a pretreatment, so even if it is used outdoors for a long period of time, the water absorption of wood can be suppressed.
It is possible to prevent a decrease in adhesion between the wood surface and the paint film. Therefore, over a long period of time, damage such as peeling of the paint film can be prevented and the weather resistance of the wood can be maintained.

Next, the effects of the present invention will be clarified by showing concrete examples. (Example 1) After the wood surface was ground, as a pretreatment, an aqueous alkoxysilane-based water absorption inhibitor (trimethoxysilane) at a solid content of 20 g / m 2 was applied by a spray gun. After that, undercoating with an acrylic resin (dry film thickness 10 μm), grinding, intermediate coating (dry film thickness 30 μm),
Grinding was performed, and then an outdoor resin paint made of an acrylic resin was applied thereon so that the dry film thickness was 100 μm.
