2の外方向に下向き傾斜となる斜面123を有し、また
圧着片11の辺縁には装飾部2の中心方向に下向き傾斜
となる斜面113が形成されていて、これらの斜面12

のハンプ部内に装着されるホイールカバーの装飾部2裏
面に、その裏面より直交方向に起立する脚部6と、この
脚部6の上端縁に形成されてホイールのラジアル方向に
弾性変形可能であり、しかも前記ハンプ部に圧着する圧
着片11及び該圧着片11のハンプ部への圧着力を加え
る環状ばね3が係止する係止片12で構成される複数個
の圧着ブロック10を装飾部の周方向略等間隔に隔設
し、さらに前記環状ばねの拡開に応じて前記圧着片が過
拡開することを制限する規制部材5を前記脚部6側面及
び装飾部2の裏面間に跨って一体形成せしめたホイール
カバー装着装置であるから、これによれば、規制部材5
が脚部6と装飾部との間に跨って脚部6と装飾部とに一
体形成されていることから、脚部6上側に形成されてい
る圧着片11と係止片12は、装飾部2に対して高ステ

も、そのホイールカバーに用いられる環状ばね3のばね
力が小さいために、ホイールカバーをホイールに装着す
るときの過拡開力が小さくホイールカバーの装着性を損
うことはない。又ホイールカバーの脱落を防ぐこともで
きる。 【0017】 【発明の効果】以上のように本発明は、自動車ホイール
のリム部に装着されるホイールカバーの装飾部2裏面
に、その裏面より直交方向に起立する脚部6を有し、こ
の脚部6の上端縁に形成されてホイールの半径方向に弾
性変形可能であり、しかも前記ハンプ部に圧着する圧着
片11と、該圧着片11のハンプ部への圧着力を加える
環状ばね3を係止する係止片12で構成される複数個の
圧着ブロック10を前記装飾部の周方向略等間隔で隔設
し、該ホイールカバーをホイールに装着するときに圧着
片のカバー外方向への倒れを防止し、かつホイールのリ
ム部と小間隙で対面する過剰振動防止面52を有する補
強部材5を前記脚部6と装飾部2裏面の間に跨って一体
形成せしめたホイールカバー装着装置であるから、これ
によれば、補強部材5が脚部6と装飾部2との間に跨っ
て脚部6と装飾部とに一体形成されていることから、各
圧着ブロック10の脚部6の基部が補強部材5により装
飾部に対して高い剛性(高スティフネス)を有してお
り、しかも補強部材5は脚部6より半径方向外側へホイ
ールハンプ部との隙間限界一杯に延長しているので圧着
片11に車軸方向の力が加わったときの圧着片の変形中
心が、ホイールカバーの半径方向に対し外側となり、こ
れによってこのホイールカバーを自動車ホイールに装着
するとき、特に圧着片11の先端部に加わる車軸方向の
力によって圧着片11の外側方向(ホイールカバーの半
径方向)への変形が小さくなり、ホイールカバーのホイ
ールへの装着が円滑に行なえるという効果が得られる。 【0018】さらに本発明では、補強部材5の端部に係
止段部53を設けたことにより圧着片11の過拡開が防
止できる。つまり、ホイールカバーをホイールに装着す
るとき、一般的には一個所の圧着片11が最初にハンプ
部に挿入され、その結果反対側の圧着片11が環状ばね
3を介して外方へ押出されることになるが、この反対側
圧着片11の押出変形が係止段部53に規制されて圧着
片11の過拡開が防止されることから、ホイールカバー
の装着作業性が良好である。また車体走行時等のホイー
ルカバーに例えば走行車両の縁石乗上げ時など、過大な
荷重が作用してホイールカバーに過大変位が生じようと
しても、その過大変位は過剰振動防止面52で受け止め
られてホイールカバーに過大変位を生じることがなく、
ホイールカバーの脱落防止が有効になされるという効果

一体に形成した本願発明にあっては、比較的小径のホイ
ールカバーの場合、そのホイールカバーに用いられる環
状ばね3のばね力が小さいために、ホイールカバーをホ

部を省いてもホイールカバーの装着性を損なうことはな
