Abstract

PURPOSE:To manufacture soundproofing material by utilizing used carpet by a method wherein the used carpet is crushed and mixed with binder so as to be formed under heat and pressure into the predetermined shape. CONSTITUTION:As the carpet, both backed carpet and non-backed carpet can be employed. When backed carpet is employed, no separation of backing material is necessary. The binder used is polyurethane resin, synthetic resin emulsion, synthetic rubber emulsion, thermosetting resin or the like. After being mixed with the binder, the crushed carpet is formed under heat and pressure into the predetermined shape.

The term "carpet" as used in the present invention.
Is a so-called backing carpet in which a machine-woven pile fabric or a felt of non-woven fabric is adhered integrally on the surface of a backing material made of synthetic resin such as vinyl chloride, SBR, rubber, or asphalt, and there is no backing. Includes both carpets.

In recent years, the amount of backing carpet used has increased as an automobile mat, an indoor laid mat, or a tile carpet. Backing carpets are difficult to repair for structural reasons when the surface mat is dirty or worn, so
As the amount of use increases, the amount of waste wood will increase. In addition, the amount of cutting waste generated when producing automobile mats and the like will also increase.

[0005] The used carpet has an unsolvable problem that it does not rot when buried in the soil, and when it is incinerated to reduce the volume, it produces toxic gas. On the other hand, it is advantageous in that it can be reused because it is a composite material of woven or non-woven structural fibers and synthetic resin, rubber, asphalt, or the like and is inexpensive.

As a prior art relatively similar to the present invention, a patent application publication No. 5-487 filed by Matsushita Electric Works, Ltd.
There is an invention described in No. 31. This prior art relates to a method of manufacturing a vibration-proof base material using a so-called synthetic leather waste material in which a vinyl chloride resin is laminated on a synthetic resin base cloth, and does not utilize a waste material of a backing carpet. Since the prior art is characterized by the fact that the synthetic resin base cloth and vinyl chloride are separated from each other in the manufacturing process, there is room for improvement in terms of cost and the effect of the soundproof material.

The problem to be solved by the present invention is that the used backing carpet or the carpet without the backing can be reused, thereby failing to contribute to the recycling of resources. .
A further problem to be solved by the present invention is that an effective soundproofing material could not be manufactured at low cost by using a used backing carpet as a raw material as it is. Further problems and advantages to be solved by the present invention will be successively revealed below.

The soundproof material which is the object of the present invention will be explained before describing the means for solving the above problems. Soundproofing is a general term for construction that blocks or absorbs sound and improves the acoustic environment in the room. The purpose is to prevent outside sound from entering the room, and to prevent the sound inside the room from propagating outside or downstairs. To do.

Sound absorption is a phenomenon in which when sound waves pass through a medium, a part of sound energy is converted into other energy by some conversion mechanism, and any material absorbs sound to some extent. Typical sound absorbing materials include glass wool, felt, foam resin material, porous plate exemplified by soft fiber board, porous plate structure such as porous plaster board,
Membrane materials such as vinyl film are exemplified.

As described above, since the sound insulation material and the sound absorption material are originally based on different mechanisms, a material having both functions should be used.
It is difficult to manufacture at low cost.

The present inventors have noticed that the carpet has a large amount of air inside because the fibers are strongly entangled with each other, and this has a sound absorbing effect, while curing the backing synthetic resin, asphalt, etc. By making it possible, it was examined to give it a sound insulation hardening.

The carpet treated in the present invention is both a backing carpet and a non-backing carpet. In the case of a backing carpet, since it is used as a material with the backing attached after crushing, it is not necessary to separate both. The crushed shape of the carpet is in the range of 1 to 10 mm, preferably 3 to 10 mm.

According to the present invention, 5 to 20 parts by weight of binder is mixed with 100 parts by weight of carpet crushed to 1 to 10 mm, and then heated and pressed into a predetermined shape. At this time, in order to make the dispersion of the mixture of crushed carpet and binder uniform, suitable long fibers may be added.
Examples of the fibers to be added include filaments such as a product name “Vinylon FRC” cut into about 3 to 10 mm.

Although the basic method of the present invention is as described above, the following modifications are often adopted by those skilled in the art. When mixing crushed carpet and binder,
Adding a filler with high specific gravity such as iron or aluminum to increase the specific gravity of the molded product and have a vibration damping effect. Use in combination with a conventional sound insulating material or sound absorbing material, such as using a sheet of high specific gravity bonded to at least one surface of the sound insulating material of the present invention.
