ス当り1Jのエネルギーをパルス幅0.5msで照射す
る。厚み1mm、幅4mmの黄銅製ヘッドベースの先端
部から3mmのレーザー光照射部14にレーザー光を照
射して、1パルス当り約0.5μm照射側に変形する。
ヘッド高さの目標値との差に応じて照射パルス数を調節
して目標値に合わせる。最初の測定値に応じて照射回数
を調節し、目標値の近くまで変形した後ヘッド高さを測
定し、パルスエネルギーを弱めて照射して高さを微調整
すれば、更に高精度にトラック高さの合ったヘッドを得
ることができる。またシリンダーの回転速度が早すぎ
て、レーザー照射部分が長くなりすぎる場合には、シリ
ンダーの安定回転可能な最小限の速度まで回転速度を落
とすことや、レーザーのパルス幅、照射面積を変えるこ
とで調節可能である。なお金属以外のヘッドベース材料
の場合でも、レーザー光照射によりヘッドベース表面が
溶ける構成にすることにより、本発明の方法は何等問題
なく適用可能である。
