Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily form a second image good in quality and superior in durability on a photographs print with high productivity by forming a second image by means of a printer on a surface of an emulsion side of the photograph print that is obtained by the developing treatment to a photographic paper. CONSTITUTION:Negative image information is inputted to an editing computer 3 from a photographic image information-inputting means 1 such as a scanner or the like and the image data is indicated on a CRT 3a. A position or a size of a second image is edited by using a character/illustration image information- inputting means 2 and an editing software 3b to be inputted to an information record medium 7. On the other hand, an image of a negative film is printed on a photographic paper by means of a printer 4 to be subjected to the development treatment by means of a photographic paper-developing machine 5 so that a developed roll 9 of the photographic paper is obtained. The second image of a character or an illustration is printed on a white portion of the photographic image of the roll 9 by means of a printer 6 and at that time the information record medium 7 controls the printer 6.

2. Description of the Related Art With the diversification of photographic prints, photographic images such as postcards and characters and illustrations have been formed on the same photographic print. For the characters and illustrations, the mask material was made from computer typesetting or transmission type silver halide photographic light-sensitive material and printed on photographic paper. However, the burned-in characters and the image of the illustration are blurred, and it is complicated and costly to make the mask material.

Therefore, as a second image forming method, a thermal fusion transfer recording method is described in JP-A-4-34432. However, the heat-melt transfer recording method has a low recording speed and low productivity, and the durability and water resistance of the second image are poor. Therefore, there is a demand for a second image forming method for photographic prints that is simple and has excellent durability and water resistance.
