Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a waterproof cable having the capability of effectively preventing the ingress of external moisture into space between the wires of a conductor in a sheathed cable. CONSTITUTION:At least one end 2 of a sheathed cable 1 with a conductor end 4 exposed at both sides, is buried and retained in a waterproof shielding agent 5 and the cable 1 is evacuated through the other end 3 thereof to generate vacuum pressure inside. The agent 5 is thus drawn into space between the wires of a conductor 6, and the space is filled with the agent 5, thereby forming a waterproof cable having the conductor 6 sealed with the agent 5.

2. Description of the Related Art Japanese Patent Application No. 2-44747 discloses an effective waterproofing means for connecting portions in which conductors which are exposed for a little longer by peeling off an insulating coating on the ends are directly connected to each other in a waterproof manner. There is a waterproof structure for the electric wire connection part. That is, in this known waterproof structure, as shown in FIG. 2, the exposed conductors 6 are formed by connecting the exposed conductors 6 at the ends to each other via the connection terminals 10.
In addition to embedding the waterproof insulating sealant 5 including a nearby insulating coating, the sealant 5 is wrapped with a sealing tape 9 to be waterproofed.

In the conventional waterproof structure described above, since the electric wire connecting portion is embedded in the sealant 5 and sealed with a tape, water infiltration from the outside at the connecting portion is effectively prevented. However, inside the electric wire, there is a minute gap between the wires that form the conductor 6, so when the minute gap becomes able to communicate with the outside air through the connector or the like at the other end, the change in the outside air temperature or the use of the wire The air in the minute voids expands and contracts due to a change in the environmental temperature, which causes a so-called breathing action in the electric wire. Due to the breathing action, moisture in the outside air is sucked between the strands, and the strand corrosion or There is a problem that internal corrosion such as terminal corrosion of the connecting portion occurs.

In order to solve the above technical problems, the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 1 showing a basic conceptual diagram, in which "one end 2 of a covered electric wire 1 in which at least conductor ends 4 of both ends are exposed. ,
It is embedded and held in a waterproof insulating shield agent 5, and air is sucked from the other end 3 of the covered electric wire 1 to make the inside of the covered electric wire 1 a negative pressure, so that the shield agent 5 is applied between the wires of the conductor 6. The method of manufacturing a waterproof electric wire is characterized in that it is sucked and the shielding agent 5 is filled between the wires.

More specifically, the waterproof and insulating shield agent 5 used in the present invention is a liquid or soft paste material such as liquid silicone rubber which has a property of sucking between wires due to negative pressure. By creating a negative pressure in the electric wire, the shield agent 5 is sucked and filled from one end 2 to a considerable length of the conductor 6. The end 2 side to be embedded in the shield agent 5 is in a state in which the covered electric wire 1 is simply cut to expose the conductor end 4 as shown in FIG. 1 (A), or as shown in FIG. 1 (B). In addition, the conductors 6 of the covered electric wire 1 may be connected to each other and embedded in the shielding agent 5 and the sealing tape 9 may be applied to provide a waterproof structure. In short, the conductor end 4 of at least one end 2 may be connected. Embedded in the shield agent 5,
It is sufficient that the shield agent 5 can be sucked in by negative pressure. Then, after the shield agent 5 is sucked into the waterproof electric wire, the terminal 7 is connected to one end of the waterproof electric wire and the connector is inserted, or one end 2 of the waterproof electric wires is connected to each other with a waterproof structure as shown in FIG. Used as a connection.

Further, the other end 3 side for air suction is shown in FIG.
As described above, the covered electric wire 1 may be simply cut to expose the conductor end 4, or, although not shown, a terminal or a connector may be attached. The point is at least the other end. It suffices that the conductor end 4 of 3 is exposed and a negative pressure can be applied to the inside of the wires of the conductor 6. Then, after the required air is sucked and waterproofing is performed by sucking the shield agent, a terminal is connected to the other end 3 to insert a connector, or the other end 3 is inserted.
Is used as an interconnection of the waterproof structure shown in FIG.
In addition, 8 in the figure is an air suction part of the vacuum pump.

According to the above method for producing a waterproof electric wire of the present invention,
The one end 2 is embedded in the shield agent 5 and held, and the air in the covered electric wire 1 is sucked from the other end 3 to make the inside of the covered electric wire 1 into a negative pressure.
The shield agent 5 on the side is sucked between the strands of the conductor 6, and the shield agent 5 is filled between the strands of the conductor 6 extending from one end 2 to a considerable length to form a sealed plug structure. Therefore, the "so-called breathing action in the wire" due to the expansion and contraction of air in the wire (in the wire including accessories such as connectors) due to changes in the outside air temperature and changes in the operating environment temperature of the wire is prevented and reduced. It is possible to provide a waterproof electric wire that prevents moisture from entering due to the above and prevents corrosion of conductors and terminals inside the electric wire.
