These transfer foils are used as follows. That is, the outer coating of the golf ball is applied directly or after applying a urethane-based undercoating material, a transfer foil is laid over this and hot stamped to print a pattern. After that, a urethane-based paint is applied and the golf ball is put on the market.

This transfer foil has excellent transfer performance to the transfer target including the dimple portion, and can be transferred by one hot stamp, and also has light resistance, weather resistance, abrasion resistance, crack resistance, etc. under severe operating conditions. Painting with excellent physical properties was possible.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> By the way, when the transfer painting fails and, for example, the pattern is distorted or white spots are generated, this golf ball is treated with an alkaline alcohol without applying a urethane-based paint. The pattern is washed off with the solution and reused. However, the pigment penetrated the outer skin of the golf ball and the base paint and could not be washed off well.

<Operation> The transfer foil of the present invention has the above-mentioned conventional structure because the base film is a release film such as polypropylene, the main resin of the ink is nitrocellulose, and other layers (for example, an adhesive layer) are not present. It retains the same transfer performance and physical properties as the transfer foil, and because the pigment in the ink is a quinacridone-based pigment, it does not penetrate into the golf ball's outer coat or base paint, and dissolves in an alkaline alcohol solution. In case of failure, it can be washed off easily and completely. In addition, since the pigment has excellent light resistance, it is extremely suitable as a transfer foil for a golf ball which is subjected to strong light exposure and impact.

Polyethylene powder is added for the purpose of preventing blocking of the ink layer and improving abrasion resistance, and the plasticizer is a resin whose main resin is relatively hard, and the ink layer is prone to crack due to a strong impact at the time of hitting a ball. It is added for the purpose of prevention. Further, the surfactant is added as a dispersant for uniformly dispersing the non-soluble substance such as pigment and polyethylene powder in the organic solvent.
