られる転写電界は、感光体に用紙が密着していない転写
領域外にも及びため、転写工程に入る前のトナー像の一
部は感光体と用紙間の空隙を飛翔して転写されるために
鮮明な画質の転写が得られない。特に転写手段に転写ブ
ラシを使用して、電気抵抗の低い湿つた用紙にトナー像
を転写する場合、転写ブラシの電荷は転写領域にある用
紙の領域のみにとどまらず、感光体に接触する直前の用
紙領域にも移動して用紙と感光体の間に不平等電界を発
生する。この電界のため感光体の表面に形成されたトナ
ー像からトナーの一部が用紙へと飛翔し、得られた複写
は第6図に示すように画像aの周辺にトナーbが点状に
付着したものとなり、画質低下の原因となつている。
