を検知する流入車両検知手段と、 車両流出側出口に設置されて、車両の流出を検知する流
出車両検知手段と、 前記流入車両検知手段による流入車両の検知に対応して
滞留台数カウンタを+1し、前記流出車両検知手段によ
る流出車両の検知に対応して滞留台数カウンタを−1す
る計数手段とを備えて、前記車両流入側入口と車両流出
側出口間の滞留車両台数を求める交通流計測装置におい
て、 この装置の動作開始時に動作して、前記車両流入側入口
から流入される車両の特徴データを順次に記憶すると共
に、この特徴データを最初に記憶した時以降の流入車両
の台数を初期化カウンタで順次に計数する入口側初期処
理手段と、 前記車両流出側出口に設置されて各流出車両の前記特徴
データを認識し、この特徴データを前記入口側初期処理
手段によって最初に記憶された特徴データと順次に比較
すると共に、両データが一致した場合にはその時におけ
る前記初期化カウンタの計数結果を前記滞留台数カウン
タに転送して、前記流入車両検知手段、前記流出車両検
知手段、及び前記計数手段の動作を開始させる出口側初
期処理手段とを備えることを特徴とする交通流計測装
置。
