The material is carried into or out of the storage rack by a stacker crane. These stacker cranes are orthogonal to the extending direction of the arms above and below the left and right crane bodies provided so as to run across the entire warehouse frame in a direction parallel to the above extending direction of the arms. A fork that is long in the direction of the arrow is provided so as to be able to move up and down along the left and right portions of the crane body, and a pair of hooks is configured to be movable on the fork.

When materials are loaded into the three-dimensional warehouse from the outside, the stacker-crane forks fall from above the warehouse frame into the gap between the open ends of the storage shelves. When the material of the desired storage rack is transferred and the material on the storage rack is carried out of the three-dimensional warehouse, the fork of the stacker crane moves in the gap between the open ends of the storage rack. It moves up and is transferred from above the warehouse frame to the outside of the three-dimensional warehouse. Therefore, the adjacent warehouse frames cannot be connected to each other in the traveling direction of the stacker crane, but are merely forested.
