The present invention has been made in order to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, and even if the water intake pipe for taking water from a submerged drinking cup becomes long, it is not necessary to make the capacity of the pumping pump so large. Moreover, it is a problem to be solved to provide an economical water intake device that can be installed without requiring large-scale construction.

That is, the water intake device of the present invention introduces water intake into a water intake tank using a principle of siphon, or natural flow down through a water intake pipe, to a facility requiring water intake such as a fish farm installed on land. The feature is that only the power energy pumped from the intake tank by the pump is consumed. Further, in the water intake device of the present invention, in order to position the extension portion of the intake pipe in the land portion between the high tide level and the low tide level, the entire intake pipe is naturally positioned lower than the low tide level. Compared to the case where water is taken down, that is, water is taken only by using natural power, the land excavation depth for laying the water intake pipe on the land becomes shallower, so large-scale excavation work is not only necessary. Therefore, maintenance of the intake pipe after installation will be easy.

In the water intake device configured as described above, when the seawater level is higher than the highest part of the intake pipe 2, seawater flows into the intake tank 4 by gravity flow via the intake pipe 2. However, when the seawater level is lower than the highest part of the intake pipe 2, seawater is introduced into the intake tank 4 by the siphon principle.

Further, in the water intake device of the present invention, as compared with the case of performing water intake using only natural power, the land excavation depth for laying the water intake pipe on the land becomes shallow, and thus large-scale excavation work is performed. Is not necessary at all, and maintenance of the intake pipe after installation is easy.
