BACKGROUND ART A wire harness for a vehicle (hereinafter also simply referred to as a harness) generally has a plurality of electric wire bundles wrapped around a tape to bundle and protect electric wires. It is used to connect various electrical parts arranged indoors and outdoors via the, but when water is splashed from the outside to the harness arranged in the engine room of the vehicle, or when condensed water is generated due to cooling, The water adhering to the harness enters the gap between the many bundled bundled wire bundles that make up the harness through the tape winding gap, moves into the harness due to capillary phenomenon, etc., and water enters the room. It is a cause of various short-circuit accidents of electric parts, acceleration of corrosion, and various other troubles.

Therefore, in order to prevent the occurrence of such troubles, conventionally, the wiring method of the harness in the engine room is improved so as not to be directly splashed with water, or as shown in FIG. After the exterior tape is tightly wrapped around the branching portion c of the harness b that is routed to the vehicle to waterproof it, the portion that is routed from the partially routed portion of the room to the outdoor side of the vehicle body wall a is 2 by exterior tape d over 1m or more

However, the method of improving the wiring method of the harness has reached the limit in the present situation where the harness is getting larger as in recent years, and the branch portion c of the harness b is subjected to a waterproof treatment or the harness b. With the method of wrapping the exterior tape on the wire, the number of focused wires that make up the harness increases, so it is difficult to achieve complete waterproofing of a recent harness in which water tends to move through the gap between the focused wires due to capillary action. Is. Furthermore, even if the method of pouring the adhesive into the harness insertion portion e 1 of the grommet e is also used, it is practically difficult to permeate the adhesive into the gaps between a large number of bundled bundles of electric wires, resulting in a complete waterproof effect. This is impossible, and the workability of waterproofing is extremely low.

First, as shown in Fig. 3 (a), each individual electric wire 1a constituting the harness 1 is addressed to one (if the electric wire 1a has a small diameter, two to several wires may be collected), and one side or A tape 2a having a thickness of about 0.5 mm and a width of about 3 mm, which is based on the rubber-like elastic body 2 coated with an adhesive on both sides, is wound around the predetermined portion 3 of the electric wire 1a for one or more turns to form the tape 2a. The electric wire 1a and the tape 2a are bonded to each other. In this case, if a polyethylene-synthetic rubber-based copolymer is used as the base material of the tape 2a, the tape itself can be made fusible, and the tape can be fused only by winding it by pulling.

Next, as shown in FIG. 3 (b), after applying a similar tape winding on a predetermined electric wire 1a constituting the harness 1, the tape winding portion 4 is attached as shown in FIG. 3 (c). The tapes are aligned and focused, and are adhered or fused to each other at the tape winding portion 4 to finish the outer shape into a substantially circular shape, and the gap between the electric wires is densely filled with the waterproof rubber-like elastic body 2. The waterproof wire harness A of the present invention is formed by further winding, adhering or fusing the tape winding portion 4 with the tape 2a for one round or more.

By fixing the harness A in this way, the water-resistant rubber-like elastic body 2 filled in the gaps of the many bundled electric wire bundles 1 forming the harness A to a required length has a capillary phenomenon. Has the effect of completely blocking water from entering the vehicle compartment. Also, for water that attaches to the outer periphery of the harness A and enters the room, by inserting the tape winding portion 4 of the harness A into the harness insertion portion 6a of the grommet 6, the outer periphery of the tape winding portion 4 Is elastically adhered to the inner wall of the harness insertion portion 6a and completely blocked.

The waterproof wire harness of the present invention forms a series of bulging portions in the outer peripheral portion of the focused electric wire while filling the gap of the focused electric wire bundle in the portion corresponding to the grommet insertion portion of the wire harness with the waterproof rubber-like elastic body, Since the grommet insertion part and the bulging part of the water-resistant rubber-like elastic material are in close contact with each other and are fixed by tape winding, the water spattered in the engine room of the vehicle, etc. It is possible to completely prevent a trouble such as intrusion into the vehicle interior through the vehicle. Further, the method for forming a waterproof wire harness of the present invention is a method in which an adhesive or fusing tape made of a water-resistant rubber-like elastic base material is wound around individual electric wires to a required length and then the tape winding portion is integrally focused. Therefore, it has an excellent advantage that it can be formed easily and inexpensively.
