Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an air conditioner having a small installation space by disposing electric components from an upper part to a side of a heat exchanging chamber contained in an upper chamber of a housing. CONSTITUTION:An electric component 13 for controlling an operation of a device in an air conditioner 1 is disposed in an electric device chamber 12 formed at an upper part of a housing. A heat exchanging chamber 14 is partitioned from a machine room 18 by a partition plate, and a tandem board 5 for connecting wirings from the chamber 12 to those from the chamber 18 is disposed at a side of the chamber 14. Since the component 13 is disposed from above the chamber 14 to its side in the conditioner 1, an installation space of the component 13 scarcely becomes a cause for laterally extending as compared with that in which the component is disposed in the machine room, and the housing can be formed in a long longitudinal side to reduce the installation space of the housing.

In the air conditioner as described above, an electric part for controlling the operation of the compressor or the like is generally provided on the machine room side, and the installation space for the electric part is small. It was necessary next to the air conditioner, which was one of the causes for the lateral expansion of the housing of the air conditioner. If the housing expands laterally, the installation space becomes large, so that it easily becomes an obstacle when installed on a veranda or the like.

In this air conditioner, since the electric parts are arranged from the upper part to the side part of the heat exchange chamber, the installation space for the electric parts is not easily expanded laterally. Moreover, since the electric components are arranged over the side of the electric component exchange chamber, the distance between the machine room and the electric components is close.

In the air conditioner 1 thus constructed,
Since the compressor 19 is of a variable capacity type and is of a multi type in which a plurality of indoor units are connected, the electric component 13
Even so will be very many accordingly. In this air conditioner 1, since the electric components 13 are arranged laterally from the upper part of the heat exchange chamber 14, the installation space for the electric components 13 is laterally compared to the conventional one in which the electric components are arranged in the machine room. It is unlikely to cause expansion, the housing can be made vertically long, and the installation space for the housing can be reduced. Moreover, since the electric parts 13 are arranged even over the side portions of the heat exchange chamber 14, the parts of the machine room 14 and the electric parts 13 are close to each other. Is almost never increased.

Further, in the air conditioner 1, the relay board 5 is particularly arranged, and the wiring connected to the electric component 13 on the relay board, the solenoid valves 21a to 21e, and the electric expansion valves 24a to 2 are provided.
Since the wiring connected to 4e is connected, the work of connecting the wiring to be connected to the electric component 13 and the solenoid valves 21a to
21e and the operation of connecting the wirings connected to the electric expansion valves 24a to 24e can be performed separately and simultaneously. Moreover, since the lengths of the five adjacent wires are made uniform, and finally these wires are connected to the relay board 5, the assembling work of these wires can be facilitated.

In this air conditioner 1, if the screw 38 is removed, it tends to fall forward or backward, but the metal fitting 38 is provided on the rear side.
It doesn't fall down because it hits the wall or hits the wall. Further, even if the user tries to fall forward, the hooks 36e are caught in the slide holes 37d so that the metal fittings 36 and 37 cannot be disengaged from each other. Therefore, the air conditioner 1 is prevented from falling and being damaged.

Further, since this air conditioner 1 is provided with one large-diameter fan 16, it is possible to ensure a required air volume at a low rotation speed as compared with one having a plurality of small-diameter fans. The noise can be reduced and the weight can be reduced as compared with a fan having a plurality of small-diameter fans.

According to the present invention, the inside of the housing is divided into upper and lower parts by a partition plate, the upper chamber is a heat exchange chamber having a built-in heat exchanger, and the lower chamber is a machine room having a built-in compressor. In the air conditioner described above, the electric parts are arranged from the upper part to the side part of the heat exchange chamber, so that the installation space of the electric parts is unlikely to expand laterally, so that the installation space of the housing can be reduced. Moreover, since the machine room and the electric parts are close to each other, the work of connecting the wires connecting them is hardly increased.
