Abstract

PURPOSE:To install an outdoor unit on a surface of an outer wall of a house in close contact with a back surface of the unit without reducing an atmosphere suction amount by opening an atmosphere suction port at a side of the unit, opening an air discharge port at a front surface and closing the back surface. CONSTITUTION:An outdoor unit 2 is opened with an air discharge port 7 at its front plate 2a, opened with atmosphere suction ports 8a, 8b at a pair of left and right side plates 2b, 2c and formed therein with a vent passage 9 for communicating the ports 8a, 8b with the port 7. The unit 2 is substantially closed at entire back plate 2d and ceiling plate 2e, and so mounted at an upper end of the plate 2d with a pair of counterclockwise holding-down bolts 10a, 10b for wall-suspending as to be clamped from inside at a predetermined interval. Thus, a decrease in the atmosphere suction amount and an increase in power consumption of an outdoor fan motor can be prevented.

However, in such a conventional air conditioner, the outside air inlet is opened on the back surface of the outdoor unit, so that when the back surface of the outdoor unit is closely attached to the building outdoor wall. Since the outside air inlet is closed by the outer wall, the amount of outside air sucked into the outdoor unit is remarkably reduced, the heat exchange capacity is lowered, and the load on the outdoor fan is increased, so that the power consumption is increased.

However, the outdoor heat exchanger 13 of this embodiment
Expands the width dimension WF of the fin 13b to be larger than the fin width WFO dimension of the single-row pipe type outdoor heat exchanger of the related art to increase the outer surface area.
The heat transfer ability of 3b with the outside air is improved, and the fin temperature is increased. For this reason, dew condensation and freezing of the fin 13b are reduced,

Further, even if frost is formed on the outer surface of the fin 13b, the area of the outer surface of the fin 13b is larger than that of the conventional example, so that the frost is thin. For this reason, it is possible to suppress a reduction in the amount of ventilation that ventilates the outdoor heat exchanger 13, so that the heat exchange capacity is not significantly reduced and the heating operation can be performed for a long time. That is, it is possible to reduce the frequency of the defrosting operation and improve the heating capacity or efficiency.

Such an effect can be obtained also in the conventional two-row pipe type heat exchanger in which the width of the fins is widened. In this conventional example, the two rows of pipes are heated during the defrosting operation to melt the frost. Since it is necessary, the amount of heat required for defrosting increases, and the defrosting operation time becomes longer. Since the heating operation is interrupted during this defrosting operation, the heating capacity or efficiency is reduced.

As described above, the first invention of the present application is
Since the outside air suction port is opened on the side surface of the outdoor unit and the back surface is closed, the outdoor unit can be installed by bringing this back surface into close contact with the outer surface such as the building outdoor wall. Therefore, it is possible to save the installation space of the outdoor unit, improve the fitting of the outdoor unit, and enhance the appearance.

Further, since the outdoor heat exchangers are respectively arranged on the ventilation passages in the outdoor unit, the ventilation efficiency of the ventilation passages can be increased to enhance the heat exchange capacity and the load on the outdoor fan can be reduced. The power consumption can be saved.

Further, since the relatively heavy compressor is arranged in the central portion of the outdoor unit, it is possible to enhance the stability when carrying the outdoor unit or suspending the wall.

On the other hand, according to the second aspect of the present invention, since the outdoor heat exchanger is bent into a desired shape such as an L shape, the outer surface area of the outdoor heat exchanger is increased to enhance the heat exchange capacity. You can

Moreover, since the central axis of each pipe is eccentric inward in the bending direction with respect to the central axis of the fin, it is possible to prevent ventilation between adjacent fins contacting each other inside the bent portion. It is possible to prevent the heat exchange capacity from being deteriorated.
