リーニング装置において、上記弾性ブレードの長手方向
長さを上記支持部材の長手方向長さよりも長くして、上
記弾性ブレードで上記支持部材長手方向両端部を覆った
弾性ブレードを移動体に当接させ移動体表面から除去し
た残留物を上記容器で受けることを特徴とするクリーニ
ング装置、または、像担持体と、この像担持体に現像像
を形成する手段と、転写材に現像像を転写する転写手段
と、像担持体に当接する弾性ブレードと、この弾性ブレ
ードを長手方向に沿って保持する保持部材とを有する画
像形成装置において、上記弾性ブレードの長手方向の長
さを上記支持部材のなかが手方向長さよりも長くして、
上記弾性ブレードで上記像担持体長手方向両端部を覆っ
た弾性ブレードを上記像担持体に当接させて上記転写手
段によって転写材に転写されずに上記像担持体表面に残
留する残留現像剤を除去することを特徴とする画像形成
装置である。

向にみて、支持部材両端面よりもクリーニングブレート
が外方に突出するように形成したクリーニング装置であ
る。
