Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely discharge a static electricity charged on paper by disposing an electrostatic discharge brush outside a paper discharge port in an image forming device provided with an electrostatic discharge brush at a paper dis charge port. CONSTITUTION:Paper 5a and an ink ribbon 13 are depressed at a depressing part between a platen roller 9 and a thermal head 10. The heat generation of the thermal head 10 transfers ink of the ink ribbon 13 to the paper to form an image thereon. The ink ribbon 13 is released from the paper 5a. The paper 5a is fed to a cutter 1. The ink ribbon 13 is taken up on a reel 12. The paper 5a is statically electrified to a large extent at the time of the release of the ink ribbon 13 or the like. In this invention, since an electrostatic discharge brush 15 is disposed outside a discharge duct 8, the static electricity can be discharged to outside air, which is less stagnant than air stagnating inside the discharge duct 8. In this manner, the electrostatic discharge performance of the electrostatic discharge brush 15 is never lowered, and a static electricity charged on the paper 5a can be surely discharged.

However, the paper discharge port 2
The air inside is stagnant because it is covered with a cover or the like despite being exposed to the outside air, and the static elimination brush 3 gradually becomes unable to release static electricity into the air. For this reason, the static elimination ability of the static elimination brush 3 gradually decreases, and the static electricity on the sheet 1 cannot be removed.

By arranging the static elimination brush outside the sheet discharge port, the static elimination brush can discharge static electricity to the air outside the sheet discharge port, which has less stagnation than the stagnant air inside the sheet discharge port. For this reason, the static elimination ability of the static elimination brush does not decrease, and the static electricity of the paper is always removed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. The image forming apparatus of the present embodiment is a thermal transfer printer with a cutter, which prints a sheet 5a drawn from a roll paper 5 held outside the apparatus main body 4 by a printing unit 6 inside the apparatus main body 4 and also the cutter. It is cut into a predetermined length at 7 and is discharged from the discharge duct 8 (sheet discharge port). The printing unit 6 is formed by the platen roller 9 and the thermal head 10 being pressed against each other.
The ink ribbon 13 wound around the reels 11 and 12 is passed through the pressure contact portion between the thermal head 10 and the platen roller 9. The cutter 7 is the cutter cover 1.
4 and the discharge duct 8 is attached to the tip of the cutter cover 14. A static elimination brush 15 for removing static electricity charged on the paper 5a is provided outside the exit of the discharge duct 8. The static elimination brushes 15 are provided above and below the discharge duct 8.

In such a structure, the paper 5a and the ink ribbon 13 are connected to the platen roller 9 and the thermal head 1.
The ink of the ink ribbon 13 is transferred to the paper by heat generated by the thermal head 10 to form an image. Then, the ink ribbon 13 is peeled off from the paper 5a, the paper 5a is sent to the cutter 7, and the ink ribbon 1
3 is wound on the reel 12. By the way, the paper 5a is
A large amount of static electricity is applied when the ink ribbon 13 is peeled off.
This static electricity is released into the air through the static elimination brush 15 as in the conventional example. Here, this static elimination brush 15
Is provided outside the exhaust duct 8, so that static electricity can be released to the outside air that has no stagnation as compared with the stagnation air inside the exhaust duct 8. For this reason,
The charge removal performance of the charge removal brush 15 does not decrease, and the static electricity charged on the paper 5a can be reliably removed.

According to the present invention, in an image forming apparatus in which a sheet discharging port for discharging a sheet to the outside of the apparatus is provided with a discharging brush for removing static electricity charged on the sheet, the discharging brush is provided outside the sheet discharging port. The static elimination brush can dissipate static electricity to the air outside the paper discharge port, which is less stagnant than the stagnant air inside the paper discharge port. Therefore, there is an effect that the static electricity charged on the paper can be surely removed.
