Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic for washing hair, comprising a betaine having excellent humectant action as an active ingredient, having the high humectant effects by addition thereof in a small dose, excellent in touch after use and useful as a shampoo, a hair rinse, etc. CONSTITUTION:This cosmetic for washing hair comprises a betaine (another name: trimethylglycine, glycinebetaine or an alkyldimethylbetaine) expressed by the formula as an active ingredient. The active ingredient expressed by the formula in an amount of 0.05-20 pts.wt., especially 2-5 pts.wt. is preferably contained therein. As the essential ingredients other than the betaine expressed by the formula, hydrocarbons such as liquid paraffin, higher alcohols such as cetanol, esters such as isopropyl myristate, glycerides such as olive oil, silicone oils, waxes, other natural oils, thickeners.stabilizers, emulsifying agents, various medicines, detergents, chelating agents, humectants, ultraviolet ray absorbers, perfumes, colorants, preservatives, etc., can be blended in the cosmetic for washing hair.
