Abstract

(57)【要約】 【目的】 ユーザーの脚に物品を安定に保持し、ユーザ
ーの脚から取り外した際には、ラップボードが取り付け
られている物品の下側に折り込まれ、ラップボードを引
き離さずにユーザーが立ち上がり且つ制限された動きが
許される、ユーザーの脚に物品を取り外し可能に取り付
ける固着装置を提供する。 【構成】 １組の脚部材（２２、２４）が該脚部材の上
部若しくは外部縁部にて、それぞれテーブル部材１６の
側縁部１８及び２０に取り付けられ、該脚部材２２及び
２４の自由端部は、テーブル部材１６の下側の中心域
に、それぞれ弾性ウエブ２６及び２８により相互に連結
する。１組の共働ストラップ３２及び３４が、それぞれ
脚部材２２及び２４の自由端部に取り付けられる。

Description

【発明の詳細な説明】
【０００１】
【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、一般にラップボードに
関し、特にラップトップコンピュータ等の物品をユーザ
ーの脚に取り外し可能に固着する装置に関する。
【０００２】
【従来の技術】サイズの縮小化及びマイクロエレクトロ
ニクスの演算能力の増加における最近の進歩は、パーソ
ナルコンピュータの急増を生じている。パーソナルコン
ピュータの普通の構造はラップトップコンピュータであ
り、この語は一般に、長さ１０〜１４インチ、幅６〜９
インチを有し、通常、一体化されたスタンドアップディ
スプレイを含むコンピュータを意味するために用いられ
る。名称「ラップトップコンピュータ」は、かようなコ
ンピュータの通常の態様をも説明している、すなわちユ
ーザーのラップ（膝）に載っている。
【０００３】ラップトップコンピュータは、そのサイ
ズ、重量及び携帯性ゆえに利便であるが、特にキーボー
ドにタイプ入力がなされる際には、ユーザーの膝の上で
のバランスがとりにくい。さらに、ユーザーの動きの範
囲は、ラップトップコンピュータを持ち上げて、安定な
表面に置かなければ、厳しく制限される。
【０００４】ラップボードは、特に、航空機を操縦する
際に、膝の上にチャート、チェックリスト等を安定させ
るために、かような装置を用いる航空機のパイロットに
より、数年間、用いられている。典型的なラップボード
の例は、米国特許第３，４０７，７５７号に記述され
る。該ラップボードは、ユーザーの脚に取り外し可能に
固着され、ユーザーの動きの範囲をより拡大できる半安
定な表面を提供する。
【０００５】所望の物品を保持し、且つ該物品を普通に
使用するために、ユーザーの脚に載置される際に、ラッ
プボードは十分な程度の安定性を有しなければならな
い。かような安定性を達成するための従来技術の方法
は、ラップボードの下側表面に剛性肩を加えることであ
り、使用中、該肩はユーザーの脚のいずれかの側に配置
されるであろう。しかしながら、かようなラップボード
の欠点は、ユーザーの脚から外され、テーブルや机等の
典型的な平坦な表面に置かれる際に、平坦でコンパクト
な位置に置けないことである。加えて、これらのラップ
ボードのユーザーは、ユーザーの膝以外で使用するため
に、ラップボードから物品を典型的に引き離さなければ
ならない。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】本発明の目的は、ラッ
プトップコンピュータ若しくは他の物品を安定に保持す
るために、ユーザーの脚に取り外し可能に取り付ける固
着装置を提供することにある。
【０００７】本発明の他の目的は、ユーザーの脚から取
り外した際に、ラップボードが取り付けられている物品
の下側に近接するコンパクトな保管位置に折り込まれる
ラップボードを提供することにある。
【０００８】本発明の別の目的は、ラップボードすなわ
ち保持された物品を引き離さずに、ユーザーが立ち上が
れ且つ制限された動きが許される、ラップトップコンピ
ュータ若しくは他の物品をユーザーの脚の上に保持する
ラップボードを提供することにある。
【０００９】
【課題を解決するための手段】本発明は、ラップトップ
コンピュータ、紙パッド等に半永久的に取り付けるラッ
プボードからなり、該ラップボードは、ユーザーの脚に
取り付けられた操作位置と、ラップトップコンピュータ
若しくは他の物品の下側に近接して折り込まれたコンパ
クトな保管位置との間で、適合可能である。ラップボー
ドは、実質的に長方形のテーブル部材と、１組の内に折
り込まれた脚部材とを含み、該脚部材の一方は該テーブ
ル部材の下でヒンジ移動のために、テーブル部材のいず
れかの側部に取り付けられる。弾性ウエブが、それぞれ
の脚部材の自由端部をテーブル部材の下側の中心位置に
相互に連結する。脚部材に関連する１組のストラップ
が、ユーザーの脚にラップボードを取り外し可能に固着
するために用いられる。使用に際して、テーブル部材の
下側の中心位置は、ユーザーの脚の頂部に載るであろ
う。脚部材はユーザーの脚の対応する側との保持接触係
合部にあり、ユーザーの脚の周囲の枢動変位に対してテ
ーブル部材を締めるべく作用するであろう。脚部材とテ
ーブル部材の下側とを相互に連結する弾性ウエブは、ユ
ーザーの脚の上部表面の輪郭に適応するために伸び、ス
トラップ部材は、こじんまりと適合するために脚の下表
面の下部及び周囲に伸長するであろう。ラップトップコ
ンピュータ若しくは他の物品をテーブル部材の上部表面
に取り外し可能に固着するために、複数のストラップが
用いられる。

【実施例】図１において一般に１０で示されるのは、ユ
ーザーの脚１２に取り外し可能に取り付けつけるための
固着装置である。好ましい実施態様において、ラップト
ップコンピュータ１４は、固着装置１０により、ユーザ
ーが操作しやすい位置に取り外し可能に固着され、保持
される。
【００１１】固着装置１０は、左側縁部１８及び右側縁
部２０（図２及び図３）を有する実質的に長方形のテー
ブル部材１６を含む。１組の実質的に長方形の脚部材、
すなわち左脚部材２２及び右脚部材２４は、テーブル部
材１６の下でヒンジ運動するために、該脚部材の上部若
しくは外部縁部にて、それぞれテーブル部材１６の側縁
部１８及び２０に取り付けられる。脚部材２２及び２４
の自由端部は、テーブル部材１６の下側の中心域に、そ
れぞれ弾性ウエブ２６及び２８により、自由に相互に連
結する。好ましい実施態様において、弾性ウエブ２６及
び２８は、脚部材２２及び２４の自由端部と、テーブル
部材１６の下側との両方に、３０にて縫い込められる。
１組の共働ストラップ３２及び３４は、それぞれ脚部材
２２及び２４の自由端部に取り付けられる。ストラップ
３４は、ユーザーの脚の装置１０の固着を補助するため
に、弾性ウエブのある長さを含む。
【００１２】図２に示すように、固着装置１０の構造
は、脚部材２２及び２４が、テーブル部材１６の下側に
隣接すべく、内方に折り畳まれることを可能とする。可
撓性である弾性ウエブ２６及び２８は自動的に折り畳ま
れ、テーブル部材１６と、脚部材２２及び２４との間に
保持される。ストラップ３４はループとフックとの固締
材料３６の区域を含み、該区域によりストラップ３４
は、該区域に対応し且つ共働するかような材料の区域３
７に、脚部材２２の外側表面の上部若しくは最左縁の近
傍にて、取り外し可能に取り付けられ、ストラップ３４
のためのアンカーポイント（留め位置）を与える。該ア
ンカーポイントは、次いで脚部材２２及び２４を内に折
り込まれたコンパクトな保管状態に保持すべく作用す
る。
【００１３】脚部材２２及び２４の自由端部を把握し、
且つ脚部材２２及び２４を外方に枢動させ、同時にユー
ザーの脚１２の上部表面との接触係合部にテーブル部材
１６の下側を移動することにより、固着装置１０はユー
ザーの脚１２に取り外し可能に取り付けられる。弾性ウ
エブ２６及び２８は、ユーザーの脚１２の上部表面の輪
郭にほぼ順応すべく伸び、こうして脚部材２２及び２４
の自由端部はユーザーの脚１２のいずれかの側で保持係
合部となるであろう。取り付けは、固締部３６をストラ
ップ３２に関連する共働固締部３８に取り外し可能に留
めるため、ユーザーの脚１２の下方及び周囲にストラッ
プ３４を伸ばすことにより達せられる。図４において見
られるように、ユーザーの脚１２は、弾性ウエブ２６及
び２８と、ストラップ３２及び３４とにより、しっかり
と且つこじんまりと取り囲まれ、ユーザーの脚１２の長
手方向軸に関して固着装置１０が相互に枢動することを
防ぐ。さらに、脚部材２２及び２４は、側縁部１８及び
２０を締め、テーブル部材１６を安定させ、テーブル部
材１６とユーザーの脚１２との間の相互枢動を防ぐ。固
着装置１０が驚異的に安定した且つつけ心地のよい保持
表面を種々の活動がなされるかもしれない場所に提供す
ることが見い出されている。
【００１４】固着装置１０は多種の物品を保持する際に
有用である。好ましい実施態様において、ループとフッ
クとの固締要素の共働する組のストリップが、テーブル
部材１６の頂面に配置される。かような組の低部若しく
は底部要素がテーブル部材１６に固着され、共働する上
部要素が物品の下側に固着され、固着装置１０により取
り付けられ且つ保持される。加えて、１組の弾性ストラ
ップ４２及び４４（図５及び図６）が、脚部材２２及び
２４に関連するフックとループとの固締要素３７及び４
６の共働により、それらの端部に留められる。図１に示
すように、弾性ストラップ４２及び４４は、好ましい実
施態様において、ラップトップコンピュータ４６を取り
囲み、テーブル部材１６の頂面に固定的に保持するため
に用いられる。図６に示すように、別の実施態様におい
て、弾性ストラップ４２及び４４は、紙パッド４８をテ
ーブル部材１６に固定するために用いられる。ラップト
ップコンピュータがユーザーの脚の上の所望の操作位置
から変位するであろうことを考慮せずに、ユーザーが立
ち上がり、且つ数歩歩くことができるほど、ラップトッ
プコンピュータ４６がユーザーの脚に十分に固着される
ことが見い出されている。
【００１５】本発明は好ましい実施態様に関して記述さ
れているが、特許請求の範囲に規定される本発明の範囲
内において変化及び変更がなされてもよいことから、本
発明は前記記述に限定されないことを理解されたい。

Claims (11)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項１】 （ａ）１組の対向する側部を有するテー
    ブル部材と、 （ｂ）一方が、該テーブル部材の側部の対応する他方に
    対してヒンジ移動するために取り付けられる１組の折り
    込まれる脚部材と、 （ｃ）該脚部材のそれぞれの自由端部を該テーブル部材
    の該側部の中心に相互に連結する弾性手段と、 （ｄ）該テーブル部材をユーザーの脚に取り外し可能に
    固着するために、該脚部材に関連する手段と、 （ｅ）該テーブル部材に、ユーザーによる操作のための
    物品を固着する手段と、を備えるユーザーの脚に取り外
    し可能に取り付けるための固着装置。
  2. 【請求項２】前記テーブル部材が実質的に長方形であ
    り、前記脚部材がテーブル部材の横断方向に対向する縁
    部に取り付けられることを特徴とする請求項１の固着装
    置。
  3. 【請求項３】前記脚部材が、前記対向する側部間距離の
    半分よりも狭い幅であることを特徴とする請求項１の固
    着装置。
  4. 【請求項４】前記弾性手段が弾性ウエブを含むことを特
    徴とする請求項１の固着装置。
  5. 【請求項５】前記脚部材が、前記テーブル部材に対して
    内に折り込まれた位置と、前記弾性手段を延長する外に
    折り込まれた位置との間を移動可能であることを特徴と
    する請求項１の固着装置。
  6. 【請求項６】前記内に折り込まれた脚部材が実質的に平
    坦で、水平な保持表面を呈することを特徴とする請求項
    ５の固着装置。
  7. 【請求項７】前記取り外し可能な固着手段が１組の取り
    外し可能に相互に連結するストラップ部位を含むことを
    特徴とする請求項１の固着装置。
  8. 【請求項８】前記物品がコンピュータであることを特徴
    とする請求項１の固着装置。
  9. 【請求項９】前記物品が紙パッドであることを特徴とす
    る請求項１の固着装置。
  10. 【請求項１０】前記テーブル部材がユーザーの脚に取り
    外し可能に取り付けられる際に、前記脚部材の前記自由
    端部がユーザーの脚に接触していることを特徴とする請
    求項１の固着装置。
  11. 【請求項１１】前記テーブル部材がユーザーの脚に取り
    付けられる際に、前記弾性手段が実質的にユーザーの脚
    に順応することを特徴とする請求項１の固着装置。
