法、平坦な面部をさざ波状に成形してフランジを立てる
加工法、成形機で曲げる瓦棒方式等があるが、これらの
方法によって湾曲成形を行なうと、立上り部の頂辺には
引張曲げ応力が、又、その底辺には圧縮曲げ応力がそれ
ぞれ作用し、得られた曲面はその底辺に変形歪が発生
し、前述と同様に意匠性が悪く、また施工法も良好とは
云えない。

力を応用した加工法のために、湾曲の曲率がその都度変
化し、また、曲げロ−ラ−に続くアイドルロ−ラ−の位
置極めが困難なために再現性に乏しい。またアイドル−
ロ−ルで上方より押さえているだけなので完全な塑性変
形するまでに至らず、完全に成形することは困難であっ
た。更に、成形後の面材中央部がタイコ状に持ち上がる
ためべこつくなど、美装性に欠けると共に得られた長手
方向に湾曲したステンレス鋼板の立上り部を順次シ−ム
溶接して屋根の防水加工を施した場合、台形状の凸部が
電極に接触することでキズをつけたりシ−ム溶接線が上
下に蛇行するなどして、正常な溶接ができにくい等の欠
