Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a grommet for wiring which can be inserted easily and removed hardly, by providing a thick part and a recess part at the inner side of an elastic swelling formed on the outer periphery of a main body, and permitting the bending of the elastic swelling to the inner side to the inserting force to a panel, while suppressing it to the reverse inserting force. CONSTITUTION:When a grommet is installed to a panel, a wire inserting part 7 to which a wire harness 3 is inserted is grasped and pulled from the lower side to the upper side to the through hole of the panel. The outer diameter taper part 19 of an elastic swelling 9 is pressed by the peripheral edge of the through hole, a thick part 21 is separated from an inner wall 15a, a recess part 23 is expanded, and the swelling 9 can be bent to the inner diameter side easily. When a groove 15 is fitted to the through hole, the swelling 9 is restored and fixed to the panel. Even though a reverse inserting force in the reverse direction is operated to the swelling 9 after that, the recess part 23 is narrowed, and the thick part 21 is abutted to the inner wall 15a, so as to suppress the bending of the swelling 9 to the inner diameter side. The movement of the grommet 1 can be blocked, consequently.

However, the grommet 101 shown in FIG. 6 has the mounting hole 105 of the panel 103.
Since the insertion stroke Sa at the time of fitting into the mounting hole 105, that is, the length in the axial direction of the bulging portion 111 is small, it has an advantage that the workability of inserting the ring portion 107 into the mounting hole 105 is good. When the pulling force is applied to the wire harness 115 in the direction of the flange portion 109 (the direction of arrow a in FIG. 6) in a state where the wire harness 115 is fitted and fixed, there were. That is, when a tensile force in the direction of the flange portion 109 acts on the wire harness 115, a tensile force of the same magnitude in the same direction also acts on the grommet 101, and this tensile force causes the bulging portion 1 to move.
There is a possibility that the grommet 101 may be bent out of the mounting hole 105 due to the bending of the grommet 11 toward the inner diameter side.

On the other hand, the mounting hole 105 of the panel 103
It is conceivable to increase the wall thickness of the bulging portion 111 to increase the rigidity in order to give a fixing force to the. However, in this case, a large insertion force is required when the grommet 101 is fitted into the mounting hole 105. However, there was a problem that the insertion workability deteriorates.

In the grommet 121 shown in FIG. 7, a pulling force in the direction of the flange 143 (direction of arrow b in FIG. 7) acts on the grommet 121 via the wire harness 127 in a state of being fitted and fixed in the panel through hole 125. At this time, the annular outward projection 145 engages with and presses the annular inward projection 141, and the annular inward projection 141 is pressed,
The elastic fitting portion 135 is expanded outward in the radial direction of the panel through hole 125, and the concave groove 137 is attached to the inner peripheral surface 125b of the panel through hole 125.

Therefore, the grommet 121 is attached to the panel 12
3 has the advantage that it is firmly held against 3 and does not easily come off from the panel through hole 125, but on the other hand, the insertion stroke Sb when inserting into the panel through hole 125 of the panel 123, that is, the axial length of the elastic bulging portion 135. Is larger than the insertion stroke Sa of the grommet 101 shown in FIG. 6 (Sa <
Therefore, there is a problem that a large insertion force is required when fitting the grommet 121 into the panel through hole 125, and the insertion workability is poor.

When the grommet is attached to the through hole of the panel, the grommet is inserted into the through hole from the elastic bulging portion side and then pulled in the inserting direction. When the grommet is pulled in the insertion direction, an insertion force acts on the elastic bulging portion, and the inner diameter side of the elastic bulging portion tries to enter the through hole of the panel. At this time,
Since the concave portion allows the elastic bulging portion to bend toward the inner diameter side, the elastic bulging portion is easily fitted to the inner diameter side into the bending through hole.

On the other hand, when the wire harness tries to move in the direction of the flange with the grommet fitted and fixed in the through hole of the panel, an anti-insertion force acts on the elastic bulging portion, so that the inner diameter side of the elastic bulging portion is displaced. It moves in the insertion direction and tries to enter the insertion hole. However, when the anti-insertion force acts on the elastic bulging portion, the inward bulging of the elastic bulging portion is suppressed by the recess, so that the grommet is prevented from moving in the anti-inserting direction.

On the other hand, when the grommet 1 is fitted and fixed in the through hole 13 of the panel 11 and a tensile force in the direction opposite to the insertion direction (arrow D direction) acts on the wire harness 3 as shown in FIG. The anti-insertion force acts on the projecting portion 9, and the inner diameter portion 9 a of the elastic bulging portion 9 tries to enter the through hole 13.
However, when such an anti-insertion force acts on the elastic bulging portion 9, the concave portion 23 is narrowed, the thick portion 21 abuts the inner wall 15a of the groove portion 15, and the thick portion 21 causes the inner diameter of the elastic bulging portion 9 to increase. Since the bending to the side is suppressed, the grommet 1 is prevented from moving in the opposite insertion direction.
