Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an air-conditioner embedded in ceiling, capable of making the external appearance of the same look more attractive by mounting the main body of the air-conditioner on a module ceiling and capable of improving the mounting workability of the same by covering the edges of a decorative panel of the air-conditioner with the outer periphery of the main body of the air-conditioner and setting the outer periphery of the main body between frames. CONSTITUTION:Frames 26, each having a cross-sectionally inverted T-shape, are parallel-arranged with each other in parallel with a ceiling-plane and boarded up with ceiling boards 5 leaving no gap among the boards and the frames 26. The number of wires 7 for supporting the frames 26 on ceiling slabs is suitably adjusted so that weight bearing on the frames 26 can be safely borne by the wires. The casing 2 of an air-conditioner has a size that can be accommodated between the paired frames 26, and a decorative panel 24 is housed in the casing 24 while the edges of the decorative panel 24 are covered by flanges 29. The mounting of the air-conditioner can be accomplished by merely setting the main body of the same on the frames 26, and the work is simple. Further, since the decorative panel 24 is not projected from the ceiling boards 5, a sense of oppression is not given to users.

In the ceiling-embedded air conditioner according to a second aspect of the present invention, the drain pump is arranged in the central portion in the longitudinal direction of the air conditioner main body, and the drain tank of the drain pan is also arranged in the central portion. A V-shape is formed so that the drain pan inclination for improving drainage of the drain is lowered toward the center of the air conditioner body. As a result, the height dimension produced by the inclined surface of the drain pan is reduced to 1/2 of that of the conventional one, so that the height dimension of the air conditioner main body is also reduced, which is effective when the space above the ceiling cannot be secured. Further, the effect becomes greater as the air conditioner body extends in the longitudinal direction.

Further, in the decorative panel for a ceiling-embedded air conditioner according to a third aspect of the present invention, the position of the outlet is provided below the surface on which the inlet is installed so that the ceiling plate and the outlet are separated from each other. Since the entrained wind generated by the blow-out air does not come into contact with the ceiling surface, only the outlet portion is projected downward without contaminating the ceiling surface and without increasing the thickness of the entire decorative panel. It is possible to improve the appearance with excellent interior quality without giving a feeling.
