Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a method and apparatus for crimping a yarn is called a push-type crimping device, in which a pushing roller pushes the yarn into a winding chamber to give crimp, and then dry heat treatment. Alternatively, a method of heat treatment by moistening in a J box or the like is generally used for synthetic fibers or the like. In addition, as a method of vertically connecting a coil-shaped tube connected to a yarn supply roller and supplying the yarn to the conveyor while rotating the yarn and heat-treating it on the conveyor, as a method for treating the tow-shaped fibers, the relative rotation is performed. There is a method of mechanically crimping by sandwiching with a star roller. However, in these methods, since a considerable mechanical force is applied to the yarn to form the crimped shape, it is inevitable that the yarn is completely bent or damaged. In particular, in the case of a hollow fiber, there is a drawback in that the bending of the yarn leads to a loss of the function of the object itself.

The present invention is a method for producing a crimped yarn, characterized in that the continuous yarn is made to meander between a large number of cylinders traveling at a constant interval and is run, and is heat-set by heat treatment, and
It is characterized by comprising a free roller, a heating box, and a yarn-conveying unit that is located in the heating box and has a chain fixed to an attachment, and a chain with an attachment that runs in opposition to convey the yarn meanderingly in the column. A crimped yarn manufacturing apparatus is adopted.

A cylinder 3 is fixed to the attachment 4, and one chain 2 with attachments is provided on each side. Here, the continuous yarn 1 is fed from the free roller 8, is moved forward as the column 3 travels while meandering between the columns, and is heat-set and heat-set by the hot air supplied from the hot air inlet 6. From the hot air heating box 5, crimps are applied and discharged.

It is necessary to adjust the clearance according to the outer diameter of the yarn. If the clearance is too small, the traveling cylinders will hit each other, and the yarn will be damaged more than necessary. If the clearance is too large, the crimp applied to the yarn will be weakened and the effect will be reduced. Further, it is necessary to select the columnar shape, the chain mounting pitch, etc., according to the desired crimp shape of the yarn. The material of the chain and the cylinder is not particularly specified as long as it is heat-resistant and has corrosion resistance to the yarn.
