Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a turnover of a web without an occurrence of a stain on a printed matter with little generation of a static electricity by a method wherein a turn bar is made of a sintered alloy with a large number of fine holes, and moist air is blown from the fine holes. CONSTITUTION:A turn bar 10 is shaped into a cylindrical form with 10-30mum diameter fine holes distributed all over the surface. Air is supplied to a hollow part 11 and blown from the fine holes. The turn bar is produced by sintering metallic fine-mesh wire gauzes overlapped in several layers, or by sintering a powder metal under pressure and heat. As the metallic material, a stainless steel, a copper, and the like can be used. In service, air is supplied from an air supply source 12, such as a compressor or a blower, to the hollow part 11 of the turn bar through piping, and the supplied air is moistened. For moistening air, a moistening machine 13 is provided in the path of the piping from the air supply source to the turn bar or in the hollow part 11.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, when a web is turned over for double-sided printing in an offset rotary press or when slit webs are overlapped with each other, a turn bar is passed to the advancing web to change the advancing direction of the web. For example, the web can be turned over by passing two turn bars in a crossed manner. The turn bar can be used as long as it is a cylindrical rod, but if the surface contacting the turn bar is printed, the turn bar and the printing surface are rubbed and the printing surface becomes dirty. For this reason, in such a case, a drill hole is made in each of the hollow cylinders, and compressed air is blown into the hollow cylinder to blow it out from the drill hole so that the web is in a non-contact state. Further, a turn bar whose surface is coated with Teflon tape is also used. However, with the increase in printing speed, the conventional method is not sufficient, and stains often occur due to friction with the turn bar. Further, the water content of the web is lowered by the drying process of printing, and static electricity is generated due to the contact of the web, which may hinder the treatment of the web in the subsequent process.

According to the invention of claim 1 of the present application, in a method of passing a turn bar in an oblique direction to a moving web and changing the moving direction of the web, the turn bar has a large number of fine holes. A method for converting a traveling web, which is a sintered metal, in which humidified air is blown out from the fine holes, and the invention of claim 2 passes a turn bar in an oblique direction with respect to the traveling web to advance the web. In the method for changing the direction, the turn bar is a sintered metal having a large number of fine holes, and the ionized air is blown out from the fine holes.

The present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. The turn bar 10 used in the present invention has a diameter of 10 to 10 on the surface.
It has a cylindrical shape in which fine holes of 30 μm are distributed over the entire surface. Air is supplied to the hollow portion 11 and blows out from the fine holes. The turn bar can be manufactured by stacking several layers of metal wire mesh having a fine mesh and sintering, or by pressing and heating powder metal to sinter.
As the metal material, stainless steel, copper, etc. can be used. According to the method of the present invention, air is supplied to the hollow portion 11 of the turn bar from an air supply source 12 such as a compressor or a blower by piping. The supplied air is humidified. A method of humidifying the air can be achieved by providing a humidifier 13 in the middle of the pipe from the air supply source to the turn bar or in the hollow portion 11. In the present invention, air is ionized and supplied. This may be provided by replacing the humidifier with an air ionizer that generates a high frequency in the air and ionizes the air.

According to the present invention, since a turn bar made of a metal sintered body having a large number of fine holes is used, an air film is formed on the surface of the turn bar, so that the web hardly contacts. The direction of travel of the web can be changed. Therefore, no extra tension is applied to the web and no wrinkling occurs in the web. Further, since humidified air or ionized air is supplied, static electricity of the web is removed.
