Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the LED display unit which is easily looked up at even from below while green with low luminance and is easily viewed even outdoors. CONSTITUTION:The LED display unit has one dot of its checkered light emission surface composed of a red LED 2b and a green LED 2a, low-luminance green is arranged closely to the side of a hood 4, whose top surface is tapered to secure upward visibility. Consequently, red LEDs 2a are hardly affected by the sunshine on the side of the hood 4, so the visibility is good even in the daytime and the upward visibility is also improved.

FIG. 4 is a partial detailed view of a conventional LED display. In FIG. 4, the LED display has a partition plate 1 for each dot to prevent light from leaking to an adjacent dot. The partition plate 1 is provided with a hole 3 through which the LED 2 is inserted, and sunlight is LE on the upper part of the hole 3.
Eaves 4 are provided for the purpose of preventing the LED light from directly hitting D2 and being canceled by the sunlight. As shown in FIG. 5, one dot is provided with an element 2a for emitting red light and an element 2b for emitting green light, one for each color, and is for L for two-color emission.
ED2 is arranged. The elements 2a and 2b are fixed to a metallic reflecting mirror 2c by an electrically conductive material 2d, and a wire 2e for flowing a current from an electric circuit (not shown) is connected thereto. A transparent lens 2f is formed around the reflecting mirror 2c to efficiently collect light emitted from the elements 2a and 2b in the front direction and to mechanically protect the elements 2a and 2b. Each of the elements 2a and 2b receives a signal from the electric circuit and emits light in red, green and orange (simultaneous lighting of red and green) to display characters and figures.

However, the conventional L
In an ED display, the brightness of the element that emits red light and the element that emits green light mounted on one LED differs depending on the difference in the material characteristics of the respective elements. On the other hand, green has a brightness of only about 30%, and it is ideal to mount three elements for green for one element for red. However, it is difficult in terms of manufacturing technology to mount many elements on one LED in the structure of the LED that has been conventionally used, and in order to mount many elements, it is a new reflection due to space problems. It is very uneconomical to make a mirror mold. Further, since there is an eave to prevent sunlight from directly hitting the LED, when the LED display is installed outdoors and viewed from below (in the direction of the arrow), the LED is hidden by the eave and the visibility is impaired. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems and provides an LED display device in which green can provide clear visibility even in outdoor use and has good visibility from below.

In order to solve the above problems, the LED display of the present invention is an LED 2 which emits green light.
1 and one LED that emits red light are placed close to each other.
A member having two holes and a hole for inserting the LED, and an eaves provided at a position where sunlight does not hit the LED and becomes a shadow when the LED is installed with the optical axis direction of the LED being horizontal. The 1-dot LED arrangement has two LEDs emitting green light on the eaves side of one LED emitting red light, and two LEDs emitting green light and one LED emitting red light. The center point of the triangle connecting the LED centers is arranged closer to the eaves side than the center point of the hole of the member forming the hole, and the upper surface side of the eaves is tapered over the entire surface.

According to the present invention, due to the above-mentioned structure, the brightness of the green LED having a low brightness can be secured, and clear visibility can be obtained without the LED light being canceled by the sunlight. Moreover, since the eaves that block sunlight is tapered, an LED display with good visibility from below the LED display can be obtained.

FIG. 1 is a front view of one character of the LED display of the present invention. Three LEDs 2a2b are arranged as one dot in a grid of 256 dots, and any LED is selectively turned on, Characters and figures are displayed. FIG. 2 is a partial detailed view of the LED display device of the present invention. The LED display device is provided with a partition plate 1 for preventing light leakage to adjacent dots for each dot. A hole 3 for inserting the LED 2 is opened, and sunlight is directly applied to the LED 2 at the upper portion of the hole 3 to prevent the light emitted from the LED 2 from being offset and the visibility being reduced. Is provided.
In one hole 3 of the partition plate 1, two LEDs 2a that emit green light are arranged on the upper side, which is easily shaded by sunlight by the eaves 4, and one LED 2b that emits red light is provided on the lower side of the central portion of the two LEDs 2a. Individually arranged to form one dot. Here, the LED 2 is arranged so that the center point 5 of the triangle connecting the centers of the three LEDs is located closer to the eaves 4 than the center point 6 of the hole 3 for inserting the LED of the partition plate 1. There is. This arrangement prevents the visibility of the LED from being impaired by sunlight by placing one dot of the LED close to the eaves 4 and reduces the visibility from below as a shadow of the lower eaves described below. It is for prevention. Further, the upper surface 4a of the eaves 4 is tapered to prevent the LED 2b emitting red light from being hidden by the eaves 4 and hindering the visibility when the LED display is mounted outdoors and viewed from below (in the direction of the arrow). It is formed into a shape. As a result, when the LED display is installed at a high place such as a building wall surface, the display content can be read not only from a distant near horizontal direction but also from a position looking up at a relatively close LED display. .

In the present invention, one LED that emits red light for one dot and two LEDs that emit green light are used, but more LEDs may be provided. Even in this case, it is preferable that the number of LEDs emitting green light is larger than the number of LEDs emitting red light to compensate for the difference in brightness.

As described above on the basis of one embodiment of the present invention, according to the present invention, an LED which emits green light having a lower brightness than an LED which emits red light in one dot of an LED display. Since two are arranged, the brightness of green is large, and
Good visibility outdoors because the eaves side is green, which is not easily affected by sunlight. Further, since the entire LED forming one dot is arranged above the one dot hole of the partition plate and the upper portion of the eave is tapered, the visibility from the bottom is improved when the LED display is attached. .
