Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a hydrofluorocarbon emulsion composition for cleaning, which has little possibility of causing the ozonosphere depletion and has such detergency for ionic contaminants that it can substitute for the conventional chlorofluorocarbon detergents such as CFC-113, by mixing decafluoropentane, a surfactant and water. CONSTITUTION:The composition comprises a mixture of decafluoropentane, a surfactant and water. An example of the decafluoropentane is 1,1,1,2,3,4,4,5,5,5- decafluoropentane (having a boiling point of about 55 deg.C). As the surfactant, a fluorinated surfactant is preferably used in an amount of about 0.1-10wt.% based on the decafluoropentane. The amount of water to be incorporated is about 0.1-20wt.% based on the decafluoropentane. To improve the detergency for oil-soluble contaminants, an organic liquid comprising, e.g. a hydrocarbon, a chlorocarbon or a chlorofluorocarbon may be incorporated into this composition.

2. Description of the Related Art During the manufacturing and processing of precision machinery, optical equipment and electronic equipment, and during finishing and periodic inspections, in addition to oil-soluble dirt such as processing oil and rust preventive oil, water-soluble dirt is washed off. Will be required. When cleaning both stains at the same time, the cleaning efficiency is high and the cleaning liquid itself can be easily removed without damaging the object to be cleaned, and a chlorofluorocarbon-based cleaning agent containing a surfactant and water (for example, CFC-113 A boiling point of about 48 ° C., Japanese Patent Publication No. 44-8973) has been used.

Since decafluoropentane does not contain chlorine, it does not destroy the ozone layer, is nonflammable, and has a boiling point close to that of CFC-113 and selective solubility. Therefore, it contains a surfactant and water. The water-in-oil emulsion composition is useful as a cleaning agent against ionic contamination.
