と、 前記両機体の他方に前記上部機体の回動軌跡と交差する
所定方向に移動可能に支持され前記両機体の閉鎖時に前
記複数の第1の係止部材の夫々に係止される第1の被係
止部材と、 前記両機体の一方に設けられ上下に移動可能な第2の係
止部材と、 前記両機体の他方に設けられ前記第1の被係止部材と一
体的に前記所定方向に移動可能に連結され前記第2の係
止部材により係止される第2の被係止部材とを有し、 前記両機体の閉成に際し、前記第2の係止部材と前記第
2の被係止部材との当接により該第2の被係止部材を前
記第1の被係止部材が前記第1の係止部材に係止される
位置を超えるまで前記所定方向及び閉成方向に移動させ
た後前記第2の係止部材により前記第2の被係止部材を
係止し、前記付勢部材により前記上部機体を開成方向に
付勢することにより前記第2の係止部材を上方に移動さ
せ、前記第1の被係止部材を前記第1の係止部材により
係止することを特徴とする画像形成装置。
