Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a joint portion structure of a steel pipe having a good appearance of a connecting portion has a structure in which joint ends of steel pipes are directly welded (not shown) and a joint end of a steel pipe 20 as shown in FIG. The two joint members 21 respectively connected to the portion 20a are attached to the contact plate 22.
There is one in which a cover pipe 24 is provided between the steel pipes 20 after being connected by a bolt 23 (see JP-B-4-26655).

After brackets, which are provided on the outer peripheral surface of the joining end portion and project from each other at intervals, and which correspond to each other in the axial direction, are bolt-connected via a temporary fixing plate, the steel pipes are butt welded all around.

It is necessary to perform welding and then remove the temporary fixing plate. In addition, it is difficult to secure the welding quality because the welding method becomes a poor footing in a high place and the conditions including the upward welding are not good. Also,
After welding, it is necessary to remove the bracket and grind the mark.

The cutting dimensional accuracy and the assembling accuracy of steel plates by welding must be maintained. Further, the bolt holes in the joint member 21 and the contact plate 22 must be accurately positioned so that the steel pipes 20 can be concentrically arranged.
For this reason, the manufacturing is not easy, the work efficiency is low, and the cost is high. Further, the failure of the production not only makes the assembling work at a high place difficult but also may result in uncertain transmission of the load.

The one ends of the two joint members can be easily and reliably welded and fixed to the joint ends of the two structural members. Also, the other end portions of the two joint members can be arranged concentrically opposite to each other by the splicing engagement of the joint piece to the other end portions of the two joint members, and the bolt hole machining in this state can be performed easily and reliably. Therefore, in combination with the fact that commercially available angle steel can be used, it is possible to improve production efficiency, production accuracy, and production cost.
