Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a tack agent composition for trapping small insects, coatable in a simple operation with a spray, esp. an air spray. CONSTITUTION:This spray composition consisting of a water-based emulsion <=1000 (esp. 200-400) cp in the viscosity at 25 deg.C, comprises (A) 10-80wt.% of a polybutene pref. 200-4000 in number-average molecular weight, (B) 20-80wt.% of water, (C) 0.1-20wt.% of an emulsifier, e.g. polyoxyalkylene alkyl phenyl ether sulfate ammonium salt and (D) 0.1-5wt.% of an attractant such as honey. To improve the trapping performance for small insects, it is preferable that the composition be incorporated with 0.1-20wt.% of a rubber such as polyisobutylene or butyl rubber and also 0.5-10wt.% of an anti-flow agent such as hydrophilic fine silica powder.

The present invention will be further described in detail. The polybutene used in the present invention has a number average molecular weight of 200 to 4,000.
Those in the range of are suitable. If the number average molecular weight is less than 200, the fluidity of the composition after coating becomes excessive, while if the molecular weight exceeds 4,000, it becomes difficult to spray because the viscosity is too high and the initial adhesive strength Is decreased, which is not preferable. The compounding amount of polybutene is 10 to 80% by weight, preferably 20 to 50% by weight. If it is less than 10% by weight, the trapping power of small insects is lowered, while if it exceeds 80% by weight, the viscosity is too high and the sprayability is lowered, which is not preferable.

The amount of water used in the present invention is 20 to 8
It is 0% by weight, preferably 25 to 70% by weight. If it is less than 20% by weight, the viscosity becomes too high, so that the sprayability is deteriorated. On the other hand, if it exceeds 80% by weight, the trapping power of small insects is deteriorated, which is not preferable.

As the attractant, honey or the like is suitable for small insects such as flies targeted by the spray composition of the present invention. The blending amount is suitably 0.1 to 5% by weight. If it is less than 0.1% by weight, no effect is obtained, and if it exceeds 5% by weight, the attractive effect is rather impaired, and in the case of honey, the viscosity becomes high, which is not preferable.

In order to enhance the trapping performance of small insects, it is preferable to add rubber. As the rubber compounded for this purpose, polyisobutylene having a viscosity average molecular weight of 20,000 to 2 million, butyl rubber, or a mixture thereof is suitable. If the molecular weight of rubber is out of this range,
It is not preferable because the stickiness is insufficient and the trapping performance of small insects is deteriorated. Since these rubbers have good compatibility with polybutene, the stickiness to small insects can be improved. The appropriate amount of rubber compounded is 0.1 to 20% by weight. If it is less than 0.1% by weight, it is difficult to show the effect of improving the trapping performance, while if it exceeds 20% by weight, the viscosity becomes too high, so that the sprayability is lowered and the initial adhesive strength is lowered. Both are not preferable because the ability to capture small insects is reduced.

In the present invention, it is preferable to add an anti-flow agent. When the composition of the present invention is used, tackiness develops after water is evaporated and dried after spraying, but the adhesive causes a flow on an inclined surface (which may be a vertical surface) in a dry state. In some cases, as a result, it cannot function as an adhesive. In order to prevent such a phenomenon, an anti-flow agent is added. As the above flow inhibitor, hydrophilic water-insoluble inorganic fine particles, for example, fine powder of silica, alumina, zeolite,
Examples include organic bentonite and talc. Among these, hydrophilic fine powder silica is preferable because it has a large flow prevention effect. The blending amount is 0.1 to 20% by weight, preferably 0.5 to 10% by weight. If it is less than 0.1% by weight, it is difficult to expect the flow-preventing effect.
If it exceeds 5% by weight, the sprayability is deteriorated, which is not preferable.

A spray is used to apply the composition comprising the aqueous emulsion of the present invention. The method of using a spray is not particularly limited, and a propellant such as LPG can also be used. However, when LPG is used as a propellant, safety against fire becomes a problem, and when CFC or the like is used as a propellant, environmental safety becomes a problem. Further, when a propellant is used, it is necessary to use a pressure resistant container, which is expensive. Therefore, a small amount of air pressure is manually generated to raise the internal pressure of the container,
A so-called air spray method of spraying by utilizing this internal pressure is preferable. The composition of the present invention is most suitable for air spraying.

In order to perform air spraying, it is essential that the viscosity of the composition is 1,000 cP or less at 25 ° C., preferably 50 to 900 cP, more preferably 200 to 400 cP. If the viscosity exceeds 1,000 cP, the air spray property is low even if the insect trapping performance is high, which is not preferable. In the present invention, it is necessary to determine the blending ratio of each component so that the viscosity of the composition falls within the above range. Usually, when the emulsion viscosity is low, it is considered that the solid content concentration of the emulsion is low and thus the amount of the adhesive applied is necessarily small, and therefore the adhesive performance, and thus the insect trapping performance is expected to be low. However, the composition of the present invention
Despite its low viscosity, it has a sufficient ability to trap small insects, especially flies, by using a suitable attractant as an essential component. Furthermore, the composition of the present invention is stable in the emulsion state.
