ドと磁気ディスクとが直接接触を繰返し、またフロッピ
ーディスク装置では、高速回転している磁気ディスクに
リード・ライト期間中磁気ヘッドが接触状態を保ってい
る。このため、磁気ディスクの表面潤滑が適切でない
と、その表面にスクラッチを生じ、摩耗が進行して磁気
ディスクの寿命や性能が低下してしまうという問題があ
る。勿論、このような問題は他の塗布型記録媒体に共通

トよりも濡れ性が悪いSi3N4よりも更に濡れ性が悪い。
