DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Object of the Invention] (Field of Industrial Application) The present invention relates to a floppy disk, a hard disk, and a VTR.

Therefore, although a magnetic recording medium using a metal thin film such as Co-Cr suitable for increasing the capacity is also used, in the magnetic recording medium using such a metal magnetic thin film, especially the surface of the magnetic head Lubrication is an important issue. That is, in the hard disk, the magnetic head and the magnetic disk repeatedly make direct contact at the time of contact start / stop, and in the floppy disk device, the magnetic head keeps contacting the magnetic disk rotating at high speed during the read / write period. . For this reason, if the surface lubrication of the magnetic disk is not appropriate, there is a problem that scratches are generated on the surface, wear progresses, and the life and performance of the magnetic disk decrease. Of course, such a problem is also a problem common to other coating type recording media.

Therefore, for example, in the case of a magnetic disk recording medium, a method of impregnating a non-woven fabric for medium protection with a lubricating oil, as described in Japanese Patent Application No. 59-276148 (not known) previously filed by the present applicant, A protective film of lubricating oil is formed on the surface of a medium by a spin coating method or the like.

However, when the surface of the magnetic recording medium is coated with the lubricating oil as described above, the relative movement between the magnetic recording medium and the magnetic head often becomes difficult.

FIG. 2 shows measurement data of the friction coefficient when the film thickness of the lubricating oil between the magnetic head and the magnetic recording medium is changed. Generally, when the dry surfaces are in contact with each other,
Although it is about 0.5, if lubricating oil is present as shown in the figure, this value will be greatly exceeded depending on the film thickness. In such a case, it is considered that some other force than the frictional force acts on the contacting objects. With such power,
The resistance due to the viscosity of the lubricating oil and the adsorption force due to the surface tension of the lubricating oil are considered. However, since the viscous force of the lubricating oil is usually very small, it is necessary to pay attention to the attraction force due to the surface tension of the lubricating oil here.

FIG. 3 shows data relating to the adsorption phenomenon and shows the results when the surface tension of the lubricating oil between the magnetic head and the magnetic recording medium is variously changed. As is clear from this figure, the stronger the surface tension of the lubricating oil, the stronger the adsorption phenomenon occurs.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) As described above, in the conventional magnetic head that comes into contact with the magnetic recording medium via the lubricating oil, adsorption often occurs between the magnetic recording medium and the magnetic recording medium. There is a problem that it becomes difficult to move relative to the magnetic head.

[Structure of the Invention] (Means for Solving Problems) The present invention relates to a magnetic head that contacts a relatively moving recording medium via a fluorine-based lubricating oil, with respect to a contact surface with the recording medium. It is characterized in that it is coated with a material having a lower wettability with respect to the fluorine-based lubricating oil than the recording medium.

For example, when the protective layer on the recording medium side is Si 3 N 4 , SiO 2 , ZrO 2 , and WC, BN, TiN, etc. are selected as the coating material for the contact surface of the magnetic head.

(Operation) In general, the suction force F generated by the above-described suction phenomenon is expressed by F = (2A · δ · cosθ) / h. Here, A is the contact area between the lubricating oil and the magnetic head, δ is the surface tension of the lubricating oil, θ is the wetting angle of the lubricating oil with respect to the magnetic head, and h is the distance between the magnetic head and the magnetic recording medium.

As is clear from this equation, in order to reduce the attraction force F, the wetting angle θ of the lubricating oil with respect to the magnetic head may be increased. Usually, a fluorine-based lubricating oil is used as this type of lubricating oil, so a material having poor wettability with respect to the fluorine-based lubricating oil may be used for the recording medium contact portion of the magnetic head. BN, TiN
Has poor wettability with a fluorine-based lubricating oil. In the present invention,
Since the magnetic head is coated with these materials, the attractive force F is suppressed.

In the magnetic recording medium 1, for example, a recording magnetic layer of a Co—Cr metal thin film is formed on a substrate made of a flexible resin film, and a protective layer made of Si 3 N 4 is formed on the recording magnetic layer. Further, a fluorine-based lubricating oil is formed on the protective layer by, for example, spin coating.

By the way, conventionally, a fluorine-based lubricating oil has been interposed between the Si 3 N 4 protective layer of the magnetic recording medium 1 and the surface of the ferrite that is the magnetic head. Ferrite and Si
Comparing 3 N 4 with the wettability of fluorine-based lubricating oil, Si 3
N 4 is worse. Therefore, worsening the wettability of the ferrite surface on the magnetic head side is more effective in terms of eliminating the attractive force. Fig. 4 shows the wettability of the fluorine-based lubricating oil for the possible coating materials for magnetic heads.
This is the result of an investigation in terms of the wetting and spreading speed. As is clear from this figure, BN and TiN (titanium nitride) have even worse wettability than Si 3 N 4 which has poorer wettability than ferrite.
Therefore, the adsorption phenomenon can be effectively prevented by using these materials as the coating material.

Further, as is apparent from FIG. 4, BN, TiN is, Si 3 N 4
Since the wetting and spreading speed is lower than that of SiO 2 , ZrO 2 , and WC, the same effect can be obtained when these materials are coated on the recording medium side.
