Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a pack cosmetic, having a gentle change in temperature on the skin and capable of providing a comfortable warm feeling to the skin, excellent in persistence of exothermic temperature and good in promoting effects on blood circulation by blending a thermogenic substance coated with a specific coating agent with other ingredients. CONSTITUTION:A coating agent which is a semisolid to solid at ordinary temperature is selected from (A) an oil, e.g. a hydrocarbon, a wax, a hardened oil or a higher fatty acid, (B) a surfactant e.g. glycerol ester of a fatty acid, a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether or polyoxyethylene hardened castor oil, (C) a water- swellable film-forming agent, e.g. a polymer compound prepared by copolymerizing at least 1 to 3 kinds of alkylaminoethyl (meth)acrylates, alkyl (meth)acrylates and (meth)acrylic acid, and converting the resultant copolymer into an amphoteric substance with a halogenated acetic acid and (D) a hydrophobic film-forming agent, e.g. ethyl cellulose having >=1.5 substitution degree or vinyl acetate resin. The resultant coating agent is used to coat a thermogenic substance (e.g. magnesium sulfate, sodium carbonate or calcium chloride).
