クリーニング部材8によって潜像担持体1から取り除か
れたトナー14がクリーニング装置外に落下するのを防止
するために、クリーニング部材8の下方に遮閉部材2を
設けたものが用いられている。しかし、遮閉部材2によ
る遮閉方法では経時とともに遮閉部材2の上にトナーが
溜り、クリーニング性能が低下してしまい、またクリー
ニング装置を複写機などの本体から取り外すときなどに
遮閉部材2に溜ったトナーがこぼれて、機内を汚してし
まうという問題がある。この問題を解消する方策として
遮閉部材2として弾性ローラを潜像担持体1に圧接する
機構の装置(特開昭63-210981号公報)が用いられてい
