In recent years, various types of automation have progressed at banks, etc., and in the mechanized corner of each branch as well as the main branch of banks, there are automatic deposit and withdrawal machines that automatically deposit and withdraw funds for customers.
Automatic banknote handling machines such as ATMs), cash dispensers (CDs), and money changers are installed, and customers can automatically withdraw banknotes using transaction media such as cards or money transfers. The bank is now open for extended hours even after bank counters are closed. The number of automatic banknote handling machines has increased from a minimum of a few in each bank branch to two-digit numbers in many branches, and the number of such machines is expected to increase in the future. Moreover, in recent years, recycling automatic teller machines have been developed and put into practical use, allowing deposited banknotes to be recycled within the machine and withdrawn directly. There is also an Online Tellers Machine (OTM) exclusively for bank employees (tellers).

By the way, even though mechanization has progressed as described above, various automatic banknote handling machines are operated independently and are not mutually managed and operated. Therefore, in reality, there are differences in the amount of withdrawals and deposits for each automatic banknote handling machine, and these differences vary from day to day, and also vary depending on the environment of the cashier corner. Some machines have a lot of withdrawals, while others have a few withdrawals, and there have been problems with the machines running out of banknotes or overflowing during operation, forcing them to stop operating. In addition, in order to prevent such problems from occurring, bank employees must constantly manage the situation, which leads to an increase in the number of employees.
Furthermore, there was a drawback that funds could not be managed effectively, such as when one machine of a plurality of automatic banknote handling machines was short of banknotes, while the other machine had an excess of banknotes.

Therefore, in recent years, with the increase in the number of automatic banknote handling machines mentioned above, it is possible to improve the efficiency of operating funds by managing the various automatic banknote handling machines in appropriate groups and circulating the banknotes in these machines. There is a growing demand for a group recycling system. However, in order to realize this system, it was necessary to centrally manage operating funds so that banknote handling operations such as tabulation could be performed efficiently.

Control of the banknote processing system having the above-mentioned configuration will now be explained with reference to FIG. 14. First, the running control of the movable safe 14 of the cassette conveying means will be explained.
When an insufficient amount of ten thousand yen banknotes P is detected in 6, the automatic teller machine 8 transfers the money to the central machine 12 via one automatic teller machine 9 set as the group's master machine in the step-in corner 4. An alarm signal is sent to the automatic banknote handling machine monitoring device 100 of . In response to this alarm signal, the group recycling central control device 10
1 instructs the banknote storage cassette access device 80 of the central machine 12 to prepare 10,000 yen banknotes P, and the access device 80 loads the required number of 10,000 yen banknotes P into the banknote storage cassette 16 of its own banknote retrieval and accumulation section 23. Collect and prepare. At this point, the mobile safe 14 is on rail 1.
5, stops at a predetermined position behind the concentrator 12, and performs a receiving operation for the banknote storage cassette 16 in which the 10,000 yen banknotes P are prepared. The transmission/reception device 50 of the mobile safe 14 informs the central machine 12 via optical communication that the receipt of the banknote storage cassette 16 has been completely completed.
The central machine 12 sends back a running signal to the mobile safe 14 to go to the automatic teller machine 8. The mobile safe 14 then moves on its own, and at this time the automatic teller machine 8 continues to transmit the mobile safe stop signal from its transmitter/receiver 29, and the mobile safe 14 then moves on its own and stops. Stop when you receive a signal. That is, the banknotes P in the banknote storage cassette 16 arrive at the rear position of the automatic teller machine 8 where the remaining amount is insufficient and stop.

When the mobile safe 14 stops, the automatic teller machine 8 first sends the money to the withdrawal unit 51 from the transmitter/receiver 29.
A command is sent to the movable safe 14 to remove the banknote storage cassette 16 with an insufficient amount of ten thousand yen banknotes from the banknote takeout/accumulation unit 22 in the banknote collection unit 22 . The movable safe 14 which has received this command pulls and stores the banknote storage cassette 14 with insufficient amount of banknotes into the empty cassette storage section D of the safe section 37 shown in FIG. 7 using the claw mechanism 46. When this operation is completed, the movable safe 14 pushes out the banknote storage cassette 16, which has prepared and carried ten thousand yen banknotes P, in response to a command from the automatic payment machine 8, and transfers them to the banknote collection/accumulation section 22 of the automatic payment machine 8. It works when installed. When performing the cassette insertion/removal operation, the movable safe 14 reciprocates on the rail 15 and moves the cassette storage section up and down in accordance with the cassette insertion/removal position.

When the insertion/removal of the banknote storage cassette 16 is completed, the mobile safe 14 moves by itself to the original concentration machine 12 based on the return command sent from the central machine 12, and is transported by the same transmission and reception as described above. The banknote storage cassette 16 that has been received is sent to the empty banknote collection/accumulation section 23 of the access device 80 of the central machine 12, and the access device 80 that receives it removes the remaining banknote P in the banknote storage cassette 16 by one sheet. The banknotes are taken out one by one, passed through the inspection section 24B, and stored in the banknote storage cassette 16 of the denomination-specific banknote removal and accumulation section 22.

Next, to explain the case of the automatic teller machine 9 shown in FIG. All the banknotes can be carefully stored in the banknote storage cassette 16 of the top loading/scrutinizing banknote retrieval/accumulation section 23, and conversely, they can be stored in the banknote storage cassette 16 of the banknote retrieval/accumulation section 20, 21, 22 for each denomination.
Since the banknotes P can also be distributed and loaded into the cassettes 6 and 6, insertion and removal of the cassettes is performed only at the uppermost stage. For example, if it is detected that the banknotes P in any denomination banknote storage cassette 16 are full, the automatic deposit/withdrawal machine 9 will stop the transaction with the customer and deposit the specified number of banknotes or the number of banknotes ordered by the central machine 12. The excess banknotes P are taken out from the full banknote storage cassette 16 and transferred to the banknote storage cassette 16 of the banknote takeout/accumulation section 23 at the top. When this transfer is completed, the automatic deposit/withdrawal machine 9 starts transactions with the customer again, and at the same time, uses the same communication control as described above to cause the mobile safe 14 to carry the empty banknote storage cassette 16 and move on its own. command. When the movable safe 14 receives this and moves to the rear side of the automatic teller machine 9 and stops, the movable safe 14 first stores the excess banknotes P of the automatic teller machine 9 by mutual command transmission and reception. Banknote storage cassette 14
The user then pulls out the banknote storage cassette 14 toward himself and pushes the empty banknote storage cassette 14 carried thereinto into the top banknote takeout/accumulation part 23 of the automatic teller machine 9. The mobile safe 14 is a banknote storage cassette 1.
4, return to the concentrator 12 and load it into the banknote takeout/accumulation section 23 of the access device 80.
The access device 80 takes out the excess banknotes P in the accepted banknote storage cassette 16 one by one, sorts them by denomination, and separates them into banknotes taking out and stacking parts 20 and 2 for each denomination.
The banknotes are distributed and stored in 1 and 22 banknote storage cassettes 16.

In addition, as mentioned above, the automatic deposit/withdrawal machine 9 is designed to stop transactions with the customer during banknote inspection/loading operations, but as another method, the automatic deposit/withdrawal machine 9 can If it is detected that an operation (for example, card insertion) has been performed, the automatic examination and automatic loading of banknotes will be temporarily suspended, and the examination and loading will be resumed after the transaction with that customer is completed. That way, you won't have to keep your customers waiting. In this case, the banknote shortage detector 28a and the banknote full detector 28b of the automatic deposit/dispensing machine 8 are set with enough room for the transaction section at the lowest position.

Next, in the banknote storage cassette access device 80 of the central machine 12 shown in FIG.
The upper and lower two banknote collection stacking sections 2 of the automatic teller machine 8 shown in the figure
Since the banknote storage cassettes 16 0 and 22 are each for group recycling and can be inserted into and removed from the movable safe 14, it is desirable that the two banknote storage cassettes 16 can be accessed at the same time.
For this reason, for example, a thousand yen bill P at the automatic teller machine 8
If there is a shortage of 400, 600,000,000 yen banknotes P, the banknote retrieval/accumulation section 23 in the upper and lower two stages of the access device 80
The banknote storage cassette 16 containing 400 1,000 yen bills P and the banknote storage cassette 16 containing 600 600 yen banknotes P are simultaneously deposited in the mobile safe 14 and transported, and then transferred to the automatic teller machine 8.
The banknotes are loaded into two upper and lower banknote collection/accumulation sections 20 and 22. Therefore, the movable safe 14 also has a total of four cassette storage sections A to D so that two banknote storage cassettes 16 can be delivered at the same time.

For example, if the automatic teller machine 9 accessed by one banknote storage cassette 16 is out of two or more types of banknotes, for example, 400 1,000 yen banknotes,
Assuming that there are 600 1,000 yen bills, the access device 80 of the central machine 12 stores 1,000 yen bills in one bill storage cassette 16 of the banknote takeout/accumulation section 23 on either the upper or lower level.
Prepare a total of 1000 banknotes P, 400 banknotes and 600 million yen banknotes, and move this banknote storage cassette 16 to the safe 1.
4 receives the banknotes and transports and attaches them to the banknote shortage machine. Upon receiving this, the machine loads the 1000 banknotes P in the banknote storage cassette 16 by its own loading operation.
The banknotes are divided into respective denominations and distributed and replenished to the denomination-specific banknote collection units 20 and 22. Conversely, in the automatic deposit/withdrawal machine 9, etc., the banknote storage cassette 16 of the banknote ejection/accumulation section for each denomination has multiple stages.
Even if the banknotes become full at the same time, there is no need for support because the excess banknotes P of each denomination can be collected in the banknote storage cassette 16 of the banknote takeout/accumulation section 23 at one location and drawn out and conveyed by the movable safe 14.

Further, the movement, shortage, fullness, error occurrence, etc. of banknotes P during the operation of group recycling as described above are all monitored and controlled by the central machine 12. In other words, the automatic banknote handling machine monitoring device 10 of the central machine 12
0. The online teller's machine monitoring device 102 monitors whether the banknote storage cassettes 16 for each denomination of each automatic banknote handling machine are full, insufficient, presence or absence of banknotes, etc., and if there is an abnormality (full, insufficient, etc.), a notification will be sent to that effect. is displayed on the screen display device 91 to alert the staff, and is also recorded by the journal printing device 90. Furthermore, if a problem with group recycling occurs in any of the automatic banknote handling machines, the relevant automatic banknote handling machine is separated from the group recycling using a toggle switch on the keyboard 92 by manual operation by an attendant. Furthermore, although the above-mentioned group recycling is normally performed automatically, it can be manually switched by a switch on the keyboard or by inputting from a numeric keypad, and it is also possible to change the specified number of recycled sheets as necessary during automatic operation.

Next, each automatic bill handling machine can perform automatic inspection and loading at the end of the day's business or when necessary, but all these inspection and counting results can be displayed on the screen display device 91 of the central machine 12, and The data can be recorded using the printing device 90, making it easy to tally the data. At this time, the automatic teller machine 8 cannot be automatically inspected and loaded in the dispensing unit 51, so the automatic teller machine 8 is transferred to the central machine 1 via the mobile safe 14.
The banknotes P together with the banknote storage cassette 16 are carried into the banknote 2 and counted. Further, the banknotes of each denomination in the access device 80 of the central machine 12 can be automatically inspected and automatically loaded using the banknote storage cassette 16 for group recycling, so there is no problem in tabulating the banknotes.

It is also possible to separate the mobile safe 14 from the central machine 12 and operate it for small group recycling. For example, if you want to apply the group recycling method described above to the four online tellers machines 7 in the lobby counter 3, or the four automatic teller machines 8 and automatic deposit/withdrawal machines 9 in the step-in corner 4 as a small group unit, use the master Operates in slave mode. In other words, if one master machine in the small group is provided with the small group recycling control device 105 and the banknotes P are always kept in the mobile safe 14, banknote recycling operations can be performed in the small group. Become. Note that if the control device 105 is distributed and arranged in each automatic banknote handling machine, it can be realized without using the master-slave system. In this case, the number of banknotes is managed by the storage memory in the mobile safe 14 and notified to the staff. That is, the inflow and outflow of banknotes is inspected by each automatic banknote handling machine and the movable safe 14, and the number of banknotes is managed by the movable safe 14, and then the transceiver 29, 5
A signal is sent to the automatic banknote handling machine by optical communication via 0, and a conventional remote monitor alerts the staff to the shortage of banknotes, fullness of banknotes, etc., as well as informing them of the number of banknotes remaining to carry out management operations.

In the above embodiment, the mobile safe 14 has four cassette storage sections A to D, but it may have one or two cassette storage sections. However, if you cannot automatically inspect and load banknotes yourself, such as the automatic teller machine 8, please temporarily store the banknotes in the banknote storage cassette 1.
6 and move it to another location (such as the central bank 12), it is necessary to reinstall the bill storage cassette 16 from the mobile safe 14. Therefore, in this case, the time taken to move the mobile safe 14 increases, and the efficiency of group recycling decreases accordingly. If the dispensing unit 51 of the automatic teller machine 8 were configured to circulate banknotes like the automatic teller machine 9, the above-mentioned problems would be eliminated; however, this would make the automatic teller machine 8 complicated and large. This could lead to a significant increase in costs.
