This type of small switch has a base portion having a structure in which a plurality of fixed contacts are provided on opposing inner surfaces of a box-shaped base so that at least a portion of each surface protrudes beyond the inner surface of the base. A separate proposal has been made by the same applicant.

An example of this will be explained with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4. This switch is an example of a two-pole toggle switch, and only the upper figure is an open box-shaped base 2 and cover 4. A housing 6 made of insulating resin, and three fixed contacts 8a to 8 arranged in parallel along the vertical direction of the inner surface on opposing inner surfaces of the base 2.
c and 8d to 8f, each of which has at least a portion of its surface protruding beyond the inner surface of the base 2, an insulating resin operator 12 movably housed in the housing 6, and the operator 12. Movable contacts 10a and 10b are respectively attached to both sides of a portion located in the base 2 of the base 2, and have protrusions 11a and 11b at both ends for contact with fixed contacts 8a to 8c and 8d to 8f, respectively. and a lever 16 that passes through the cover 4 and whose end is connected to the operator 12 so that the operator 12 can be operated.

In addition, a compression coil spring (not shown) and a slider 14 that is movable up and down are housed in a hole provided from the center of the operator 12 to the lever 16, and the slider 14 is opposite to the slider 14 of the base 2. A notch cam portion 3 having a desired shape is provided in this section, and this determines the notch specifications of this switch.

The reason why the surfaces of the fixed contacts 8a to 8f are protruded beyond the inner surface of the base 2 and made uneven as described above in the base part 1 of this switch is that the surfaces of the fixed contacts 8a to 8f are If the surface is the same as the inner surface, the movable contacts 10a, 1
The protrusions 11a and 11b of 0b contact and rub against the inner surface of the base 2, and as a result, when the switch is operated, the inner surface of the base 2 is scraped and shavings of the insulating resin come out, which enters between the contacts. This is to prevent the reliability of contact from decreasing.

However, because of the above-described structure, the base portion 1 has a problem in that it is difficult to manufacture it by ordinary insert molding.

That is, when insert molding the base portion 1, the fixed contact 8 is usually inserted as shown in FIG. 5A.

4, insulating resin is injected between both molds 32 and 34 to form the base 2, and then the male mold 34 is pulled upward along the hoop 30. After that, unnecessary parts such as the carriers 24 and 26 are cut and removed.

In addition, in FIG. 6, the hoop 30 on the lower side of the figure is
In order to make the shape of the male mold 34 easier to understand, the carrier 24 is shown in a state where it has been cut and removed.

However, since the male mold 34 has convex portions 34p on both sides corresponding to the shape of the inner side surface of the base 2, the male mold 34 is inserted into the hoop 3 after the base 2 is molded.
Even if an attempt is made to pull out the male die 34 upward along the line 0 (towards the surface of the paper in FIG. 6), the problem arises that the male die 34 cannot be pulled out because the protrusion 34p hits the carrier 24 above the hoop 30.

One possible solution to this problem is to make the male die 34 have a three-part structure of 34a to 34c as shown by the two-dot chain line, but this would make the structure of the male die 34 complicated. At the same time, the precision of molding also deteriorates.

Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a method that enables insert molding of the base portion as described above without dividing the male mold into a divided structure.

The manufacturing method of the present invention is such that the hoop as described above is bent such that the inner surface of the carrier located on the opening surface side of the base is located on the same plane as the inner surface of the base or on the outside thereof. It is characterized by using one set of hoops.

By using the hoop having the above structure, the carrier on the upper side thereof and the male protrusion for insert molding do not mechanically interfere with each other. As a result, the male mold can be inserted and removed freely, so that insert molding of the base portion as described above can be performed without having to divide the male mold into a separate structure.

To mainly explain the difference from the conventional method described above, in this embodiment, when manufacturing the base portion 1 as described above by insert molding, a conventional hoop 30 as shown in FIG. 5 is used. Instead, a set of hoops 40 as shown in FIG. 1 is used.

Referring also to FIG. 2, each hoop 40 is made such that the inner surface 24s of the carrier 24 located on the opening surface side of the base 2 to be molded is located outside the inner surface 2s of the base 2. Each is bent. By the way, this kind of hoop 40 is

FIG. 2 shows a state in which the base portion 1 is insert-molded using one set of hoops 40 as described above.
The carrier 24 on the upper side of each hoop 40 has an inner surface 2s on the inner surface 2s of the base 2 on which the inner surface 24s is molded (this corresponds to the outer surface of the protrusion 34p of the male die 34).
Since the carrier 24 and the protrusion 34p of the male die 34 as described above do not mechanically interfere with each other (that is, they do not come into contact with each other).
As a result, the male mold 34 can be inserted and removed freely, so that the base portion 1 can be insert-molded without having to divide the male mold 34 as described above.

Therefore, problems associated with making the male die 34 have a split structure, such as the structure of the male die 34 becoming complicated and the precision of molding deteriorating, do not occur.

[Effects of the Invention] As described above, according to the present invention, a plurality of fixed contacts are attached to the opposing inner side surfaces of the box-shaped base of the small switch, which is open only at the top. A structure in which at least a portion of the surface of each fixed contact protrudes beyond the inner surface of the base along the direction can be manufactured by insert molding without dividing the male mold. and as a result,
It is possible to avoid the problems associated with making the male mold into a split structure, that is, the structure of the male mold becomes complicated and the precision of molding deteriorates.
