This problem occurred frequently, causing the traveler to seize prematurely and scattering, and furthermore, the life of the ring was shortened.

There were disadvantages such as very high thread breakage, frequent cracking of the plating surface, and cracking of the plating surface, which caused peeling wear and abnormal wear of the traveler.

The present invention solves the above-mentioned drawbacks of the conventional spinning machine traveler.
A titanium carbide layer with a thickness of 1 to 20μ and a surface hardness of Hv2500 to 3400 is formed by CVD or PVD on at least the surface of the traveler that contacts the ring, and the surface is polished to improve wear resistance. The object of the present invention is to provide a traveler for a spinning machine that contributes to the above.

Appropriate surface hardness is Hv2500 to Hv3400; if it is lower than that, the traveler life will be reduced, and if it is higher, it will be difficult to fit in.
