As a conventional ink composition for oil-based ballpoint pens, in order to increase the dissolution stability of a basic dye used as a coloring material, to smoothly start the writing of ink for writing, and to obtain a smooth writing feeling, There is an ink composition containing oleic acid. However, since this oleic acid has a property of being adsorbed on the metal surface, it may be adsorbed on the surface of the ball to significantly reduce the frictional resistance between the ball and the writing surface. Therefore, a phenomenon occurs in which the ball slips on the writing surface, the ball does not rotate, and the ink is not transferred to the writing surface. Most of this phenomenon occurs at a distance of about 0.1 mm to 3 mm in a drawn line, and is generally referred to as “white spot”, “line break”, “dot roller”, etc. The phenomenon is referred to as "white spot".) In rare cases, the symptoms are so severe that writing becomes impossible. In addition, oleic acid has a drawback that it is highly corrosive to metals and that the various performances of the ballpoint pen are greatly deteriorated with time.

[Function] Keeps the ball of the oil-based ballpoint pen rotating smoothly,
In order to obtain a stable writing line that does not cause "white spots", it is necessary to appropriately maintain the frictional resistance between the ball and the writing surface and to prevent the ink from solidifying at the ball peripheral portion of the chip. The oil-based ballpoint pen ink to which the carboxylated polyoxyethylene alkyl ether of the present invention is added, the carboxylated polyoxyethylene alkyl ether does not adhere to the ball surface closely like oleic acid or a similar fatty acid, so that the ball and the writing surface are The friction resistance with and is kept moderate, the ball does not slip on the writing surface, and smooth rotation is obtained. Furthermore, since the ink of the present invention reduces the coefficient of friction with the ball seat, the ballpoint pen using the ink to which these are added can obtain a smooth writing feel. The carboxylated polyoxyethylene alkyl ether is an acid weaker than oleic acid or a similar fatty acid, has a small metal corrosiveness, and is excellent in storage stability as an ink for a ballpoint pen.

For each of the above-mentioned Examples and Comparative Examples, "blurring test at the time of writing" and "forced deterioration test" were carried out,
Moreover, the occurrence of "white spots" was observed on the line drawn in the "blurring test when writing". The ball-point pen used had a polypropylene tube and a phosphor bronze tip (the ball was cemented carbide tungsten carbide, diameter 0.7 mm), and the contents of each test are as follows.

"Discoloration test at the time of writing" After discarding,
After standing at room temperature for 24 hours, a straight line was drawn at a load of 100 g and a writing speed of 4.5 m / min, and the length of the blur was measured. "Forced deterioration test" The sample was left in a constant temperature and humidity tank at 50 ° C and 80% RH for a predetermined time, allowed to cool to room temperature, and spirally written by hand to check the writability.

As a result of the above-mentioned test, the ink of the example of the present invention had an extremely short and good blur length of 2 mm or less at the time of writing, and no "white spot" phenomenon was observed. The forced deterioration test could be written even after 90 days. Next, with the ink of the comparative example, the blur length at the time of writing was about 4 mm, which was about twice that of the example, and "white spots" of 0.1 mm to 3 mm were confirmed in most of the drawn lines. Further, in the forced deterioration test, the writing became impossible after 40 days, and the deterioration with time was much larger than that of the example.
