(Prior Art) In recent years, various types of plastic extrusion molded products have been used as moldings for vehicles, and among them, in order to reduce weight, there are products made of a non-foamed layer on the outside and a foamed layer on the inside, or products made entirely of foam. Many things are used.

Since it is preferable in terms of design to arrange this molding in a substantially straight line from the front to the rear of the vehicle body, extrusion molded products are often used because it is easy to obtain a constant cross-sectional shape as described above. However, since the car body has opening/closing parts such as doors, the extrusion molded product is cut according to the width of the door etc.
It is necessary to perform terminal processing before use.

By the way, as one method of terminal processing,
No. 54-3156, it has been proposed to injection mold a terminal cap in a predetermined mold and integrally attach the terminal cap to a molded terminal. If the entire molding body is made of foam, during injection molding of the terminal cap, the end face of the molding terminal will be temporarily dented by the injected resin pressure, and the resin pressure will be released after molding. As a result, the dent on the end face of the molding is restored, and a bulge often occurs in the molded cap. Therefore, in order to prevent this bulge, JP-A-55-114542 proposes an integral molding method for the terminal cap in which the cut surface of the molded terminal is substantially covered with a mold member, and no resin pressure is applied to the cut surface. has been done. However, in this case, the bonding area between the molded terminal cap and the end surface of the molding is limited to a width that is approximately equal to the outer circumference of the molding terminal, so sufficient adhesion force cannot be obtained between the terminal cap and the molding terminal. I don't like it.

(Means for Solving the Problems) The gist of the present invention is to provide a molded terminal in a mold having a cavity for the terminal cap, and mold the terminal cap by injecting molten resin into the cavity. At the same time, in the molding terminal processing method in which the cap is integrally fixed to the molding terminal, a protrusion is erected on one cavity surface of the mold, the opposing surface facing the molding end surface substantially covering the center part of the molding end surface. As a result, a cap cavity having a lumen is formed, and a gap communicating with the cap cavity is formed between the opposing surface of the protrusion and the end surface of the molding, and is injected when molding the terminal cap. The cavity for the terminal cap and the gap are filled with molten resin to form the terminal cap, and the cap is fixed to the molded terminal by the molten resin filling the gap.

(Function) Since the present invention is configured as described above, the molten resin injected into the mold (cavity) forms the terminal cap, and the molten resin filled in the void forms the terminal. The cap is fixed to substantially the entire surface (end surface) of the molding terminal, and the bonding area between the molded terminal cap and the molding terminal covers substantially the entire cut end surface of the molding. Therefore, the attachment of the terminal cap to the mall terminal becomes extremely strong.

On the other hand, as mentioned above, in the mold, a protrusion that defines the inner cavity (inner shape) of the cap is erected on one molding surface with a gap between it and the end face of the molding end, so that the melt that fills the gap Even if the resin is filled so as to compress the end face of the molding, the bulge caused by the restoration of the end face of the molding after molding will cause the bulge to bulge into the inner cavity of the molded terminal cap, and this effect will hardly be reflected on the outer surface of the cap. It is possible.

As described above, the protrusion 30 has an outer shape that defines the inner cavity (inner shape) of the terminal cap, and in particular, the opposing surface 31 facing the end surface 12 of the molding terminal 11 is located at the center of the molding end surface. The outer shape is smaller than the outer shape of the molding terminal so as to substantially cover the molding terminal, and the molding end face 12 is erected so as to form a predetermined gap 40 between the opposing surface 31 and the molding end surface 12. More specifically, as shown in FIG. 2, when looking at the end surface 12 of the molding terminal 11 from the protrusion 30 side, there is a gap between the surface of the protrusion 30 and the cavity surfaces 24 and 25 that define the outer shape of the molding. It is configured to form a cavity 28 for the terminal cap. In many cases, it is preferable that the outer shape of the protrusion 30 is substantially similar to the outer shape of the molding terminal 11, that is, the cavity surfaces 24 and 25.

Note that the gap 40 is formed between the protrusion 30 and the molding end surface 1.
2, and instead of the molding facing surface 31 of the upright protrusion 30 shown in FIG. 1 and the inclined molding end surface 12, the protrusion The molding facing surface 31 of 30 may be an inclined surface, and the molding end surface 12 may be an upright surface, etc., to form the gap 40. As shown in FIG. 2, this gap 40 communicates with the terminal cap cavity 28 through the side portion of the terminal cap cavity 28 surrounding the protrusion 30, and the molten resin enters the cavity 28 through the injection port 23. When ejected,
It is arranged to flow into the void 40.

First, the molding terminal 11 is cut at a predetermined angle, and the protrusion 30 defining the inner cavity (inner shape) of the terminal cap and the protrusion 30 and the mold cavity surfaces 24, 2 are cut.
The device is placed in a mold 20 having a cavity 28 for the end cap formed by 5 and 27. At this time, it is preferable to apply a heat-sensitive adhesive or the like to the molding end face 12 in advance in order to improve the adhesion to the terminal cap 50 to be molded. Furthermore, when this molding end face 12 is installed in the mold 20, that is, when it comes into contact with the protrusion 30, it is arranged to form a predetermined gap 40 between the end face 12 and the protrusion 30. In this way, the protrusion 30 also functions to position the molding terminal 11.

Next, molten resin is injected from the injection port 23 of the mold 20, filling the terminal cap cavity 28 and filling the gap 40 between the protrusion 30 and the molding end surface 12.
Fill with molten resin and mold. Then, the molding end face 1
The heat-sensitive adhesive applied to the surface layer of 2 or the end surface 12 is partially melted or activated by the heat of the injected molten resin, and is welded to the terminal cap 50 to be molded and the resin filled in the void 40. It is integrated over almost the entire surface. At this time, the resin covering most of the molding end surface 12 and filling the void 40 is molded so as to press against the molding end surface 12. On the other hand, at this time, the grooves 32, 32 in the protrusion 30
a, 32b, the grooves 32, 32a, 32b are also filled with molten resin, and after molding, the inner cavity of the molding terminal cap 50 is directed from the distal end side to the molding terminal side. This becomes an elongated reinforcing rib 51.

(Effects) When the terminal cap 50 is integrally molded on the molding terminal 11 in this way, the center of the molding end face 12 is compressed by the void filling resin 52 connected to the terminal cap 50 as described above. Since the molding is done by molding, a dent is temporarily created on the surface, but the molded end surface 12 is connected to the terminal cap 5 through the resin 52 that fills the above-mentioned void.
0, the bulge caused by the restoration of the molding end surface 12 due to the compression also bulges into the terminal cap inner cavity 53 as shown by the broken line in FIG. Most of these are preventable. On the other hand, the terminal cap 50 molded onto the molding terminal 11 is fixed to substantially the entire surface of the molding end face 12 by the resin 52 filling the void 40, and its fixing force is several times that of the conventional method. It was something that could be made into something.
Further, even if the terminal cap inner cavity 53 is provided with the rib 51, the rib 51 is arranged in a thin plate shape or a bent shape, so that the deformation effect due to the restoration of the molding end surface 12 is also affected by the deformation of the rib 51. As a result, the cap 50 was absorbed and molded with almost no effect on the outer surface of the cap 50. In the above description, an example in which the protrusion was provided on the lower die was explained, but the molding terminal may be turned upside down and the protrusion or the like may be provided on the upper die.

By erecting a protrusion on one cavity surface of the molding die, the opposing surface facing the molding end surface substantially covers the center portion of the molding end surface, thereby forming a cap cavity having an inner cavity, and also forming a cap cavity with an inner cavity. A gap communicating with the cap cavity is formed between the opposing surface and the end face of the molding, and the molten resin injected during molding of the terminal cap is filled into the terminal cap cavity and the gap.
