Abstract

PURPOSE:To automate feeding of a cable core and accomplish unmanned operation by installing a core feeding device. CONSTITUTION:A cable core 2 fed from a core feeder drum 1 is pinched by a core feeding device 9 and drawn out to above a pipe shaping tool 5. A metal tape is supplied from a tape supply reel 3, supported by a tape guide loading 11, passed via a tape washing device 4, and shaped into pipe form by the tool 5. The cable core 2 fed just in front of the tool 5 actuates the core feeding device 9 with a switch on an operation board 10 and is fed in such an attitude as embraced by the pipe shaped by the tool 5. The pipe embracing the core 2 is welded in longitudinal direction by a welding torch 6 continuously and taken up by a takeup capstan 7. Therein, caterpillars 9 are synchronized in speed with the take-up capstan 7. This simplifies the works and allows achieving unmanned operation.

2. Description of the Related Art An overall view of an example of a conventional metal coating production line is shown in FIG. 3, in which two cable cores sent from a core sending drum are metal tapes sent from a metal tape sending reel of three. The center of the pipe forming tool of No. 5 is vertically covered so that it is wrapped in a metal tape. The metal tape delivered from the metal tape delivery reel 3 is washed by the washing device 4 and
It is rolled into a pipe shape with the pipe forming tool of, and immediately after that, the butt portion of the tape is continuously welded in the longitudinal direction while holding the cable core. The tube is picked up by a take-up clamp capstan 7 and corrugated and made flexible by a corrugating ring 8.

1 shows an embodiment of the method of the present invention.
The cable core 2 sent out from the core sending-out drum 1 is sandwiched by the core sending-in device 9 and drawn out to the upper part of the pipe forming tool 5. The metal tape is delivered from the metal tape delivery reel 3 and is supported by the tape guide roll 11 and passes through the cleaning device 14 and
It is molded into a pipe shape with the pipe forming tool of No. 5. The cable core that has been sent up to immediately before 5 is sent so as to be held in the pipe molded at 5 by activating the sending device at 9 by the switch on the operation panel at 10. The pipe is continuously welded in the longitudinal direction by the welding torch 6 while holding the core. After that, the pipe is taken up by the clamp capstan 7 but the caterpillar 9 is speed-tuned with 7, so that the core feeding is neither too early nor too late. The pipe is corrugated with 8 corrugation rings to give flexibility.
