[Detailed Description of the Invention] (Industrial Application Field) The present invention provides a method for molding a casting model, comprising:
More specifically, the present invention relates to a method for forming a casting model that includes a sand mold core and a disappearing model that encloses the sand mold core.

This casting method facilitates molding by molding a model from, for example, foamed polystyrene, embedding it in foundry sand to form a sand mold, and then pouring molten metal into the embedded model. The above-mentioned expanded polystyrene is made up of more than 99% air, and the actual amount of air is extremely small. Therefore, when it comes into contact with the molten metal, it is immediately combusted and gasified, and the mold is then filled with the molten metal to perform casting.

(Problem to be Solved by the Invention) By the way, when the shape of the casting to be cast is complex, if the casting model is entirely formed using a disappearing model, it is difficult to fill the inside of the mold with molding sand. This may result in incomplete molding, resulting in the inconvenience that the desired mold cannot be formed. Therefore, in order to eliminate such inconveniences, a casting model may be constructed of a sand mold core and a disappearing model that encloses the sand mold core.

The method for forming a casting model as described above is as follows:
First, place the sand mold core in the mold for model molding,
Next, it is conceivable to form a disappearing model by foaming beads of foamable plastic in a cavity formed between the inner surface of the mold and the outer surface of the sand mold core.

However, in the above method, there is a risk that the plastic foaming in the vicinity of the sand mold core will be deprived of heat by the sand mold core, resulting in insufficient foaming. In other words, there is a risk that the foamed portion near the sand mold core will have a shape that does not match the cavity.

However, since the sand mold core has a low thermal conductivity, it takes a very long time to heat the sand mold core indirectly from outside the mold.

Moreover, since the sand mold core is located inside the mold, it is not easy to know the status of the sand mold core, such as whether or not the sand mold core has reached the desired temperature. In this case, there is also the problem that temperature control of the sand mold core becomes extremely difficult.

(Object of the Invention) This invention was made in view of the above-mentioned circumstances, and it is possible to create a casting model consisting of a sand mold core and a vanishing model that envelops the sand mold core into a shape with desired precision. (Structure of the Invention) A feature of the present invention for achieving the above object is that the sand mold core is preheated separately from the mold for forming the casting model, and the heated sand mold core is heated as described above. The plastic is placed in a mold, and then the foamed plastic is foamed by heating in a cavity formed between the inner surface of the mold and the outer surface of the sand mold core to form a disappearing model.

Next, as shown in FIG. 2, the previously formed sand mold core 2 is placed in a predetermined position within the lower mold 6. In this case, the sand mold core 2 is heated to 40°C in advance in a heating furnace, etc.
It is heated separately from the mold 4 to a temperature of ~90°C.

At this time, as shown in FIG. 4, a cavity 7 is formed between the inner surface of the mold 4 and the outer surface of the sand mold core 2.
Beads of foamed plastic, such as foamed polystyrene, are inserted into the tube, which is then heated and foamed. Then, the foamed plastic fills the cavity 7 while enclosing the sand mold core 2. In this case, since the sand mold core 2 has been heated to the above-mentioned desired temperature in advance, the foaming plastic is prevented from losing heat to the sand mold core 2. Therefore, the plastic continues to foam in a predetermined manner without being hindered by the sand mold core 2 until it completely matches the cavity 7, and the disappearing model 3 having a predetermined shape that matches the cavity 7 is obtained. It will be done.

(Effect of the invention) According to the present invention, when molding a casting model, a sand mold core is heated in advance and placed in a mold for molding the model, and then the inner surface of the mold and the sand mold are heated. Since the foamed plastic is heated and foamed in the cavity formed between the mold and the outer surface of the core to form a disappearing model, the plastic foamed in the cavity is prevented from losing heat to the sand mold core. Therefore, the plastic continues to foam in a predetermined manner without being hindered by the sand mold core until it completely conforms to the cavity, and a disappearing model having a predetermined shape that conforms to the cavity is formed. That is,
According to this invention, a casting model that is a combination of a sand mold core and a disappearing model can be molded into a desired shape with high precision. Moreover, since the sand mold core mentioned above is preheated separately from the mold, firstly, unlike heating the sand mold core indirectly from outside the mold, the sand mold core cannot be directly heated. Therefore, although sand mold cores have low thermal conductivity,
The heating can be done in a short time. Secondly, since the temperature of the sand mold core can be directly detected, the temperature can be easily and reliably controlled.

By the way, if the sand mold core is heated separately from the mold, it takes time to install the sand mold core in the mold, and the temperature may drop. However, as described above, since the thermal conductivity of the sand mold core is low, it takes time for the temperature to decrease once heated. Therefore, even if the sand mold core is heated separately from the mold as described above, it is possible to ensure the desired temperature in the sand mold core when foaming the foamed plastic without any problem.

In short, as described above, it is extremely convenient to heat the sand mold core separately from the mold in order to obtain a highly accurate casting model.
