Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of a radiation treatment device without any need of skill by generating a beam to simulate radiation, laying a liquid crystal panel at the transmission path of the beam, and projecting character and irradiation range graphic information as the shaded image of the beam to a skin surface via the panel. CONSTITUTION:Radiation from a radiation source 1 is limited to be within a radiation range 21 with collimators 2. A beam 22 from a light source 3 is reflected with a mirror 5 and superposed on the radiation range 21. A liquid crystal panel 4 is laid at the transmission path of the beam 22, and controlled with a liquid crystal control device 6. Namely, a treatment condition or the like is inputted from an external computer 8, and the panel 4 is controlled with the device 6, thereby forming character and irradiation range graphic information on a skin surface within the range 21 as the shaded image of the beam 22.

In the conventional method, the diagnostic field and the port film are compared on the Schaukasten to determine the irradiation field, and therefore skill and high specialized knowledge are required for the comparison. There is also a problem that patient information such as a medical record is not on the film and must be referred to and confirmed separately.

In the first embodiment of the present invention, the radiation range 21 of the radiation emitted from the radiation source 1 in FIG. 1 is limited by the collimator 2. The light flux 22 from the light source 3 is reflected by the mirror 5 and overlaps the radiation range 21. The liquid crystal panel 4 is arranged at a place where the light flux 22 passes, but in the present embodiment, it is arranged between the light source 3 and the mirror 5. The liquid crystal panel 4 is controlled by a liquid crystal control device 6, and the radiation treatment device of the present invention includes a radiation source 1 and a light source 3 for generating a light beam 22 for simulating radiation from the radiation source 1.
The collimator 2 having a function of irradiating the target area with the radiation and the light flux 22, the liquid crystal panel 4 installed at the passage place of the light flux 22, and the liquid crystal panel control device 6 have the effect of suppressing the shadow of the light flux 22. Character information and graphic information such as an irradiation field can be projected as a shadow image on the patient's skin surface, and the irradiation surface for the patient can be easily determined when performing radiotherapy.
