[Prior Art] It is already known to manufacture a composite container having heat insulating properties by combining a resin foam such as expanded polystyrene with paper, plastic film, metal foil, etc. Such containers can be made by inserting a sheet material such as paper punched into a desired shape into a container mold and then injecting synthetic resin into the mold to obtain a composite container, or by combining paper and foam. A composite material is formed by bonding the foam sheet with an adhesive, and a bending groove is formed on the foamed sheet using a heated blade. The composite material is then folded along the bending groove to assemble the container, and the abutting portion is taped. They were pasted together to form a rectangular parallelepiped container.

[Problems to be solved by the invention] When manufacturing any of the above types of composite containers, Styrofoam has poor adhesive properties, so a heat-adhesive film is pasted on the back of the sheet material in advance, or an adhesive is used to manufacture the composite container. It is necessary to apply this heat-adhesive film or adhesive to firmly bond the Styrofoam and sheet material so that they do not separate. However, attaching a heat-adhesive film or applying an adhesive to the back side of the sheet material each time during manufacturing has the disadvantage of lowering manufacturing efficiency and increasing manufacturing costs.

In the figure, reference numeral 11 denotes a top-opening container body, which is made of a foamed molded resin material such as expanded polystyrene. 12 is the container body 11
This is a sheet material for reinforcing containers or for decoration placed on the outer surface of the lower part of the container. This sheet material 12 is formed using a base paper such as cardboard or paperboard whose surface is printed as necessary, or a composite material in which a synthetic resin film or metal foil is bonded to at least one side of the base paper. There is. Such a sheet material is punched into a desired developed shape, for example, a planar cross shape as shown in FIG. A plurality of holes 14 or notches 15 are formed into which the resin to be injected bites.

After the sheet material 12 formed in this way is set between male and female molds (not shown) during container molding,
A resin for foam molding is injected into the clamped mold, and when the resin is foamed, the flowing resin is bitten into the hole 14 or cutout 15 provided at or near the edge of the side plate 13 of the blank sheet. By doing so, the molded container body 11 and the sheet material 12 are integrated.

In this case, a hot-melt adhesive coating layer or a heat-adhesive film layer 16 is provided on the back side of the sheet material 12 in advance, and the hot-melt coating layer or the like is thermally melted at the same time as the resin is foam-molded to form the sheet material 12. Of course, it is also possible to fuse the container main body 11.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, in the composite container after molding, the end of the sheet material 12 is not exposed inside the container 11, and the outer surface of the lower part of the container is made of a base paper such as corrugated cardboard or paperboard, or a combination thereof. A highly rigid composite container 10 is obtained which is covered and protected by the sheet material 12.

Note that this composite container can be used, for example, by covering its opening with a lid and storing appropriate products as a heat/cold container, gift container, or other general distribution container. Furthermore, depending on the purpose of use, the container body 11 can be provided with an internal partition 17 (see FIG. 3) by integral molding, and a protrusion 18 for stacking can also be provided at the opening of the container. (See Figure 6). Incidentally, what is indicated by the reference numeral 19 in FIGS. 4 and 6 is a hole formed in the blank sheet corresponding to the projection 18. Further, FIG. 8 is a partially cutaway sectional view of the container shown in FIG. 6. Note that, as described above, the developed shape of the sheet material does not have to be a planar cross shape, and a sheet material having an appropriate shape can be selected and used depending on the shape of the container body to be molded.

[Effects of the invention] As explained above, the invention provides sheet materials such as cardboard and paperboard on the surface of the foam molded container body.
It is possible to easily form a highly rigid composite container that is assembled into one body at the same time as molding. In particular, it exhibits a practical effect not found in conventional types in that a bondless composite container can be obtained that does not require attaching a heat-adhesive film or applying adhesive to the back side of the sheet material during molding.
