A conventional vacuum cleaner equipped with a noise reduction mechanism is described, for example, in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 115853/1983. By providing a sound-absorbing box located in the flow path and having one intake port and multiple exhaust holes, a resonant sound muffler is constructed between the outer circumferential surface of this sound-absorbing box and the inner wall of the vacuum cleaner body. It is something.

In addition, in the "prior art" section of the above-mentioned Utility Model Publication No. 62-115853, there is a section on the inside wall of the vacuum cleaner body, that is, a part of the vacuum cleaner body located between the electric blower chamber and the adjacent exhaust flow path. A configuration is shown in which part of the exhaust flow from the electric blower room side is detoured through the inner wall.

Therefore, in the vacuum cleaner equipped with the resonance type noise reduction function, the exhaust flow from the electric blower room side is as follows.
The exhaust air is discharged into a relatively large space inside the vacuum cleaner body through a large number of exhaust holes provided in the sound-absorbing box, and the noise reduction effect, which is a characteristic of resonance type mufflers, is achieved by reducing the noise level in a certain frequency band. However, in the case of vacuum cleaner noise, when frequency analysis is performed, there are often peaks at multiple frequencies. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain the sufficient noise reduction effect of vacuum cleaners with a resonant silencer. I can't.

Further, the electric blower used in a vacuum cleaner is a commutator motor, and its rotational speed changes depending on changes in load. Specifically, in the initial state when dust is not being sucked in, the rotation speed is low (generally 20,000 ~
27,000rpm), and when dust is sucked in and ventilation resistance increases, the rotational speed becomes high (generally 28,000 to 36,000rpm), so the frequency of rotational vibration sound depending on the rotational speed is not constant, and only the noise level in a specific frequency band is measured. It must be said that the practical noise reduction effect of resonance type silencers that can reduce noise is low.

On the other hand, in conventional vacuum cleaners, the air flows from the electric blower room side through a part of the inner wall of the vacuum cleaner body, that is, the inner wall of the vacuum cleaner body located between the electric blower room and the adjacent exhaust flow path. In vacuum cleaners that employ a configuration that partially detours the exhaust flow, the exhaust flow from the electric blower room side is not directly exhausted to the outside of the machine. Sound energy is converted to thermal energy while passing through the air, and although a certain degree of noise reduction effect is recognized, in conventional vacuum cleaners of this type, the length of the exhaust flow path is simply lengthened. The noise transmitted through the vacuum cleaner body was still large, and there was room for improvement from the perspective of making the vacuum cleaner sufficiently quiet.

According to the present invention having the above configuration,
By providing an electric blower cover that surrounds the electric blower as a member to hold the electric blower, the vacuum cleaner body has a double structure, which reduces the amount of exhaust noise generated by the electric blower that passes through the vacuum cleaner body. can also be significantly reduced. In addition to this, an exhaust duct is provided between the electric blower room and the cord storage room, and this exhaust duct is provided with resistance to bypass the exhaust flow from the electric blower room side surrounded by the electric blower cover. By adopting a sound-muffling type exhaust flow path, the exhaust flow from the electric blower room side passes through the resistance sound-muffling detour, and the muffling energy is converted into thermal energy, which also has the effect of reducing exhaust noise. can be achieved. In addition,
In the field of noise level reduction technology, it is known that resistance-type silencers, unlike resonance-type silencers, can reduce noise level peaks in multiple frequency bands. It is preferable to incorporate it into the machine body in order to reduce the noise of the vacuum cleaner.

Moreover, the exhaust air from the electric blower room is once guided forward through the first duct part of the exhaust duct, then makes a U-turn, passes through the second duct part of the exhaust duct, and is led to the expansion chamber. Therefore, even though the exhaust duct is provided in the narrow space between the electric blower room and the cord storage room, a long U-shaped exhaust passage can be formed, and a sufficient sound absorption area can be secured. , exhaust noise can be effectively muffled.

Further, the exhaust gas from the electric blower expands in the electric blower room, is compressed in a resistance-muffling exhaust duct, and then expands again in an expansion chamber having a cross-sectional area larger than the cross-sectional area of the exhaust port of the exhaust duct. This expansion/compression action effectively reduces exhaust noise.

In addition, an exhaust duct provided between the electric blower chamber and the cord storage chamber is provided integrally with the first duct part provided integrally with the electric blower cover and the inner bottom of the lower case part that constitutes the vacuum cleaner body. Since the exhaust duct is made up of the second duct portion formed by the partition wall, the exhaust duct can be constructed without increasing the number of parts, resulting in excellent productivity.

As a member for holding the electric blower 7,
An electric blower cover 4 surrounding the electric blower 7
3, the vacuum cleaner main body 1 has a double structure consisting of the electric blower cover 43 and the upper case 4, and further includes the indicator cover 25 and the opening/closing lid 14.
Considering this, it becomes a triple structure, and the electric blower 7
It is possible to significantly reduce the sound transmitted through the vacuum cleaner body, which is the source of the exhaust noise. In addition, an exhaust duct 42 is provided between the electric blower chamber 40 and the cord storage chamber 41, and the exhaust duct 42 is connected to the electric blower chamber 40 side surrounded by the electric blower cover 43. Since the exhaust flow path is of a resistance-silencing type through which the exhaust flow detours, the sound energy of the exhaust flow from the electric blower room 40 side is converted into thermal energy while passing through the resistance-silencing type bypass path. This also makes it possible to reduce exhaust noise.

Furthermore, by providing an expansion chamber 23 having a cross-sectional area larger than the cross-sectional area of the exhaust port of the exhaust duct 42 between the exhaust port 46 of the exhaust duct 42 and the exhaust port 19 of the vacuum cleaner body 1, the electric blower 7 can be The exhaust gas is expanded in the electric blower chamber 40, compressed in the resistance-silenced exhaust duct 42, and expanded again in the expansion chamber 23 between the exhaust port 46 of the exhaust duct 42 and the exhaust port 19 of the vacuum cleaner body 1. This expansion/compression effect also makes the exhaust noise reduction effect even more effective.

According to the present invention, the sound transmitted through the vacuum cleaner body is significantly suppressed by the electric blower cover that covers the upper part of the electric blower, and in addition, there is a long U-shaped exhaust flow path between the electric blower chamber and the cord storage chamber. The exhaust noise can be effectively reduced by the exhaust duct forming the vacuum cleaner and the expansion chamber connected to the exhaust duct. Since the exhaust duct consists of a second duct part formed by a partition wall that is integrated with the inner bottom of the lower case, the increase in the number of parts associated with forming the exhaust duct can be suppressed. A quiet vacuum cleaner with excellent performance can be obtained.
