[Detailed description of the invention] This invention improves the heat dissipation of the fuse heat generated during normal use by attaching a fuse to the fuse clip. The present invention relates to a fuse clip having a structure that ensures reliable electrical and mechanical connection with a terminal insertion portion of a receptacle connector that is connected to a terminal for connection with an external circuit.

Fuses are very important parts in terms of protecting electrical circuits, but in order for fuses to bring out their excellent electrical performance, fuse clips must also be excellent thermally and mechanically. Despite this, the importance of fuse clips is often overlooked. Therefore, there is a need for the unit price to be as low as possible, and efforts are being made to reduce costs. As a result, there was a tendency to ignore the thermal and mechanical performance that is important for fuse clips, to make the plates that make up the fuse clips thinner, and to reduce material costs. However, if the plate material is simply made thinner, the contact pressure at the fuse cap portion decreases and heat tends to accumulate in the fuse, resulting in a reduction in the life and reliability of the fuse.

Furthermore, by making the plate material thinner, a gap is created in the terminal section of the fuse clip that connects the external circuit to the insertion opening of the receptacle terminal, which is the receiving side, making it difficult to ensure electrical connection.
Mechanical performance could not be obtained, resulting in unsatisfactory results.

Applying 10A to a fuse with a rated current of 10A Temperature rise at the center of the fuse with a conventional fuse clip 60deg (℃) Temperature rise on the fuse cap with a conventional fuse clip 52deg (℃) The center of the fuse with the fuse clip of the present invention Temperature rise at the center of the fuse 50deg (°C) Temperature rise on the fuse cap with the fuse clip of the present invention 40deg (°C) Temperature rise at the center of the fuse with a fuse clip made simply from a thinner plate 68deg (°C) Fuse simply made from a thinner plate Temperature rise on the fuse cap at the clip 59deg (℃) As shown in the above data, the temperature rise can be reduced by about 20%, and as a result, thermal damage to the fuse can be reduced.
This results in a significant improvement in fuse life and reliability. FIG. 3 shows a cross-sectional view of the terminal surface 3 of the clip for connection with an external circuit. The terminal surface 3 is formed into a concave shape, and a convex portion 5 is further formed on the bottom surface 4 of the concave molded portion. The structure is such that it can be reliably engaged with a locking claw 7 of a receptacle terminal 6 (FIG. 4), which is the receiving side of a terminal for connection to an external circuit. Furthermore, even if the plate material of the fuse itself is thinner than the insertion gap 8 of the receptacle terminal, the concave molding of the connecting terminal surface 3 of the fuse clip produces the same effect as the plate material apparently becoming thicker due to the step created by the concave molded part. The thickness is such that it fits snugly into the insertion gap 8 of the receptacle terminal.

As explained above, this idea improves heat dissipation by making a hole in the fuse cap holding part of the conventional fuse clip, increasing the life and reliability of the fuse, and by providing a concave shape and a convex part on the bottom of the concave shape, it can be used even with thin plate materials. It enables a reliable electrical and mechanical connection, and also has the effect of reducing the cost of materials for the plates that make up the fuse clip itself.
