[Utility Model Claims] (1) A heat-insulating container consisting of a foamed synthetic resin container body and a foamed synthetic resin lid for closing an upper opening of the container body, in which an annular engagement groove consisting of a narrow opening and a wider depth portion is formed on the outer periphery of the opening of the container body, and an annular engagement protrusion consisting of a thin base portion and a thicker tip portion for engaging with the engagement groove is correspondingly provided on the outer periphery of the lower surface of the lid, and the thickness of the engagement protrusion is made greater overall than the groove width of the engagement groove, and the engagement depth from the opening end face of the engagement groove, i.e., the outer periphery of the container body to the maximum groove width portion of the depth portion, is made deeper than the engagement height from the outer periphery of the lower surface of the lid to the maximum thickness portion of the tip portion, so that the depth from the outer periphery of the container body to the engagement receiving surface of the depth portion of the engagement groove is deeper than the height from the outer periphery of the lower surface of the lid to the engagement surface of the tip of the engagement protrusion. (4) A container as set forth in claim 1, in which the tip of the engaging projection and the depth of the engaging groove are formed into an approximately polygonal shape.
